Magus,
I was excited when I saw your post, and then sad when I saw the shop had gone out of business. We're going to Hawaii on vacation soon and I thought that would have been too cool to have a custom aloha shirt made by them.
Too late!:(
Hmmm...I've always been a big pie fan. I was one of those that requested a pie in lieu of a cake for my birthday as a kid. In those days it was usually cherry cheese cake.
These days I'd say apple pie and the southern specialty sweet potato are are my favorites.:p
Tony,
That's a good looking lid.
I think you'll probably like either the Kimber or SA equally well. But, I use an old Colt Governement Model. ;)
It's amazing how much fun you can have with a digital camera and some collection pieces you want to share/brag on a little lol...
Great thread!
Just some highlights...
70's I Remember watching Hawaii Five-O and thinking it was SO COOOL(tried watching that one lately??)
80s I Remember having the standard three TV channels and then getting CABLE. Wow. Amazing stuff back then.

Story,
I'm sure you're probably right. I actually have a very detailed aluminum "toy" Luger P.08 that my father had as a kid back in the 40s...
The S&W replica fooled me with the brass cartridge rims showing at the rear of the cylinder;) doh!
Beautiful Buick, Mr. 'H' !!

Enjoy :)
Feraud continues to make my point better tnan I could do. Kudos, Feraud.
I will gladly admit that I am always interested in the "other side of the story." Were Japanese soldiers on Iwo Jima "young men whose lives were interrupted?"
Yes! Were they doing their duty, too? Yes again. I've...
Marc raised a very good point about the path chosen by Japan. Could have gone a different way.
To all of you who maintain that "all war is barabaric" and all nations are guilty of some crime sometime, I guess to some extent I agree. However, I wish to point out that I think the SCALE of...
Good question for history junkies!
I started out as a kid being fascinated by the early years of the war in Europe. You see, I had the first two-free- volumes of a WWII encyclopedia set;)
That broadened into a general interest in the entire war, but like many of you I've found the air...
I've posted this before but I got my boondockers from WWII Impressions. Here's what they look like:

Like Diabolical Angel, I've grown fond of the well used boondocker look.
I'd...
Paddy,
Like you, I'm a big fan of the Marine boondockers. Last time this subject came up however, someone pointed out McQueen was actually wearing the Army version of that boot...the slightly different one with rivet reinforcement. No matter...they are nearly identical. I wear my...
