Voodoo Kitten I think it came out great! I'm about 2/3s done, and realized the pattern runs small/runs on size. After too many too big patterns, I undersized. Oh well, there will be some inventive buttoning done. Yours looks great! I love the choice of white trim! (I'm considering it as well...)...
Wow, I love Dark City - completely underrated film! Also - I wear one stars and docs (cherry red, 16 eyelet) with all sorts of things they ought not be worn with. Particularly with a girly straw hat and a sundress. Then again, I am not a traditionalist.
Aren't all doughnuts at some point fried/deep-fried? I don't want to wear that helmet after!
However? So cool! I wonder if our local SA (celebrating it's 120th year this year apparently - so the banner says) is doing something for it.
Somewhat along the same line of awesomeness...
As the one who quoted the awesome Stephen Frye (who gets all the tweed-comment love), and the one who is wearing her dad's Harris Tweed sports coat as a jacket in the insane New England weather...
Nothing makes a person look/feel/act older than when they are as wearing something they aren't...
Oh my gosh! Inky! As a fiend for all things uniform/military styled, I am going to steal that when you aren't looking! Thanks for the link, that has now jumped every other project in my queue.
It looks so rockin on you! Love the striped shirt under it too.
The needle was too small, I moved up one size, and the problem was completely solved. You are all magic!
thank you Tourbillion for the advice! I was actually just looking for a zipper foot when I found that set. I didn't know if the rest of them were going to turn out to be things I'd never...
Kamikat you are not one bit frumpy from what I've seen you post here!
As for the inked, blue-haired, etc... I feel that way a lot. I can make anything look conservative. It's got nothing to do with what I'm wearing, it's just me.
As Stephen Frye put it (far better than I can) "Some of us...
My sewing machine and I are on the outs again. New problem this time since the threading/bobbin issue seems wonderfully resolved.
It refuses to sew down more than a double layer of fabric. I know this sounds nuts, but it started when I was trying to sew down the bias tape on my spiro-print...
I will admit to going to see that movie with my parents because I was pretty young at the time, and thinking she was pretty much the most glamorous thing ever in that movie! (seriously doesn't hurt that my dad lived in Paris for years, and strongly holds to the whole capital of style thing)...
The store brand white strips from Target work very very well. I bought a box ages ago, and use them for a few days and then stop for ages until I want to boost them a little whiter (before a date, that sort of thing =))
They are $17 US, so I don't know if that counts as inexpensive enough, or...
I grew most of your list in my old apartment, no pumpkins, onions or corn though! Life long apartment dweller, so I container gardened it all. I'll just say, I'm glad that I didn't have to feed a family on what I was growing.
I broke down and bought an Aero Garden on sale to start things...
Love the red and black Inky! nothing like a little help from your friends...
Kamikat the butterfly print is awesome.
I finally had enough practice in to attempt a vintage pattern. No resizing, I risked using it as it was (a 30 bust) because it was a wrap, and it doesn't have to fit my...
I know Vogue reprints as vintage vogue, and they grade the difficulty of the patterns like they do the regular non-vintage ones, and some of them are graded easy. I do tend to find a lot more true vintage pattern have very few pattern pieces. They might be hard to make perfectly, but not too bad...
Wow, poggleberry those are fab shoes!
I went back to Goodwill and struck gold. I finally found a bonnet drier. It must have just gotten there, because even the box just has a touch of wear and tear! No price so I had to part with it long enough for them to take it to the back. I got it for...
kamikat, I am too, and I find I do a lot better with non-cream sunscreens. Target's Up & Up Kids Spray Suncreen SPF 50 hasn't gotten me yet, and I think it's the first time an SPF that high hasn't gotten me all rashy in a day.
I can't put it on my face, but I have a good SPF moisturizer that...
Hehehe Spiffy, she did say a *classy* Amy Winehouse!
It was a chill spring day yesterday, and I was in skirt-and-heels, a buttercup yellow thrifted London Fog trench and a straw hat - My neighbors love the hats - and taking my dog to the curb when I got home from work (3rd shift, so it was...
Hey KittyT, the Rumble 59 page says:
"These jeans sit perfectly. They are cut to fit a woman's body well, and make a great figure. They have/are/contain stretch fabric and are comfortable.
- the material is the best dark blue denim, you won't need to prewash.
- loose and comfortable to...
Lady Day, is that a *backwards* walk-away dress??? I love it! So sorry about the miss!
deadpandiva - the jumper was adorable!
What these patterns do for my uniform love... I love anything that makes me look like a stewardess... That Red Cross pattern is just *love*
