Thank you both for the advice! I know the machine isn't *broken* because people have gotten it to work, I just don't know what the trick is. I'll try the diagram and I'd never heard that about the tension disks. I'll give that a try too!
Maybe I'll try some voodoo while I'm at it too =) the...
I'm with both Heather and Jetgirl - I'm a around a 32C but usually end up moving hooks (it's got something to do with how many inches in the back of the band... I don't know) but I love Wacol and Chantelle. The drier is not a friend to Chantelle bras in my experience.
I get fitted and buy one...
You guys don't know how weird it was it open the forum and see Rich's name! I used to work at WFUV... so that was a little unexpected. The car is a beauty, what a bummer I never saw it in person!
Miss Jay! I love the beige shoes. I can think of about a billion ways to wear them. The red are super cute, but I would have been waaaay more tempted by the others!
SayCici Please say we get to see the suit on? It's really smart on the mannequin.
Foofoogal - I'm pretty brand-blind (I bit...
I love the photos... and the Zebra boots are killer, get_atomized
AnniePancakes - http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Swimwear ! I love the look of their stuff, their one pieces are super cute too.
I'm totally checking out the pinup network link... Who doesn't want to see...
I was hoping to make the corset a "waisted" investment ThesFlishThngs!
Thank you both on the jacket. The skirt is plain, and flared, and I wish it fit as-is, and wasn't damaged, but no such luck.
Truth is, I've got a pretty small waist, but it looks more dramatic because I'm got mile-wide...
Looked high and low for pics of the machine on the internet, but I've only found other people asking about it. I got it third hand, originally it was bought for a hotel seamstress - long story.
It's a Nelco Ultra #5102 FA
more helpfully:
I took photos from about every angle imaginable...
I LOVE the blog post!
(is there actually such a think as sex courses? I would love to take one...)
I've e-mailed it to my friends (and my mom!) so the whole world is closer to reading it. It's the same kind of "heck yes" as Kate Harding's "The Fantasy of being Thin" - which is just as...
ThesFlishThngs - I LOVE your corset. I'm slightly obsessed with them, but the idea of a real more than just fashion corset scares me. I'm working my way up to it. Your is adorable! Where did you find it?
jsands - I'm with ThesFlishThngs, not the hair to wear it, but that would look so sweet...
I'll just crawl under a rock now, kthxbai
I don't have it with me, but I will update ASAP once I get home. Sorry for overlooking the painfully obvious. (I'm guessing that will likely be where the solution is to the problem as well) Thank you for pointing it out, I can see how that might be...
Fairly stupid question, I'm guessing, but I'm sick of my machine not working (I currently own 3 non-working sewing machines...)
Is there a way to tell if something is meant to be a thread guide on a machine with no manual and no manual on line (for free at least). Everything works, but the...
As another newbie, I second all of Annie's comments. I've been a bit of a chicken about posting because I'm a bit intimidated by the style and confidence you all have, but AP hit the nail on the head. It's great to see you all, in all sizes, shapes, colors and everything else being yourself, and...
Thanks Lenore, I was hoping I wan getting close to being able to do real curl in the front - which not at all.
I've made matters better/worse by cutting my hair again. It's a bit Mod-Audrey/Jean Seberg... and yet it still looks off. I know you're all massively knowledgeable on the subject of...
Belatedly (the topic has gone cold) I got this link for what amounts to DIY temporary tattoos. For us chickens I guess!

Thought I'd offer it (never tried or anything, but I might ;) ) for those out there on the fence with me!
Looking at the leather jacket, I don't know if any of you are interested in repro stuff in this vein, but I totally love Clockwork Couture. They are mostly steampunk look, and range from pretty modern but quirky to really vintage inspired.

they don't...
PrettyFaythe, I have the same problem with hair length. Whatever I pin, the rest looks a bit... forgotten.
Lenore, the curls look great! How long is your hair uncurled in the front?
MissMinna Your hair is so lovely! Oh the thought of someone else doing my hair vintage. I'd have to come up...
I have read up, so there will be more *thoughtful* setting this afternoon, but the pics! In reverse order:
Eva, the waves are so smooth and shiny, they look wonderful! Do you have any bright color alice bands to wear with it? I think it would look great.
xitsvivx, once I stopped trying to read...
I second-and-third Bare Escentuals and True Match. I use them for pretty different effects, and use the True Match (I'm a C1 too!) it two layers when I'm really going for the perfect doll-like look.
Being that I have pretty rough skin, BE is awesome for every day, but I do wish it was the...
Psycho Sue, you should have told him they were hairballs! I'm growing hair out so not too many cuts for me in the future. I did google how to make a rat though. Did you bind yours in a hairnet or something similar?
So, progress:
Set #2 this time using Lottabody. I can't judge how much...
