What maker is that ?
And in what leather ?
I like that very much.
Collared straight zip just my preferred style
- elmc (highway star)
- horsehide (veg-tan aniline)
- me too (and the leather is much better than I could’ve imagined)
- I couldn’t find a nice straight zip chp without a chest pocket or stiff leather, I didn’t want vintage either, thankfully this one popped up just as I was about to go custom

Btw, it has a dedicated thread here
A-hah.
That explains my liking a wee bit.
I have 2 Eastman Luftwaffe horsehide collared straight zips myself.
One of them for 37 years !
And an Australian made goathide "copy" made 27+ years ago.
Like I said "my preferred style"....

So cool, you rarely see Maryam jackets. Didn't know SB offered them. How is the break-in? The drape? The feel?

I bought this one secondhand but in LNWT condition. When I called to ask about the leather (it was just marked "Appaloosa horsehide" on the tag) they said they no longer offered it.

Break in was very easy. Leather was supple from day one, so it just needed some time to take on sleeve rolls and form to the body a bit. I'd say by month 4 it was more or less fully broken in. Since then it's just been developing more and more character, as the leather has a nice teacore effect.

The leather itself is just beautiful. It has a depth of color and texture that changes with the light. Feel is dry and smooth (as opposed to waxy or grabby). Drape is what you'd expect from Badalassi. Excellent sleeve rolls. It does scratch very easily though.

Pic shows the color change in direct sunlight, and a bit of the teacore effect (see pocket rim and the scratch on the sleeve):

Not sure if this is the place to suggest this, but can we add a rule for all postings in this thread of jacket images:

-jacket manufacturer
-model of jacket
-color of jacket
-leather type of jacket (horsehide, cow, lamb, etc)
-purchased new or used and when acquired

Add any other info, but this set/listing should be the minimum when posting an image wearing an item IMO.
