Been rocking the Gustin natural cxl all weekend View attachment 816289
That natural CXL looks so nice, especially with those boots and the black jeans. Sweet outfit man!

If I may ask you: To your knowledge, is it any softer/is it stuffed with less waxes, than “normal” CXL HH? Natural CXL would kinda be my current number 1 wish for a colder weather, thicker lined jacket. But the fact those waxes harden up in cold weather, raises some doubts…

It feels the same to me as my other cxl like my aero midnight navy but not as rough as my aero cxl premier highway i guess it depends on the batch this leather is thick but break in is going fast

Thank you @X83 that helps.

Damn too bad it just mostly depends on the batch, but that keeps things interesting as well haha!
Yeah that goes for any heavy duty jacket I always say when I wear my aero j24 I can’t believe how much softer it is then other cxl like my Schott p613s or others

The third (and last) leather jacket I have on the truck is the Presidential G-1: an L.W. Foster 2134 from around 1958. They call it "Presidential" since it's the kind that JFK wore.

This is a hell of a jacket and gets the most wear by far. I am in love with the G-1 in general (this is my fifth vintage G-1) since it does everything for a trucker that it does for a pilot: virtually uninhibited range of motion, light-weight yet warm with excellent wind- and water-repellance. Great pockets. This one has perfect knits and a thin but substantial goat leather that is rich with character.

I am enjoying the jacket parade. I hope my schedule allows me to continue following.

Cheers.

Looks great! I have the same contract. Contract was from the end of 1958, however the jackets were not delivered till sometime in 1959. I was conceived in 1958 and delivered in 1959, so I love that this jacket that I own is the same age as me.

Like you too I’m hooked on them. Got a 1964 Ralph Edwards the same age as my wife. A mint 1950 55J14 Pritzker and a 1942 M-422A Willis Geiger. That one has the pilots name tag and squadron patch. And I was able to find all the information on the pilot.

I just love the history of the jackets as much as I love the fit and the look.

Those shoes are unbelievably cool

Haha, thank you. They are unbelievably heavy too, and are a hit with airport securit staff. Chunky beast, with the full Birkenstock-footbed. Comfy AF, so I can ignore my normal "No sneakers"-rule for them once in a while.
