I’ve always liked boot cut (not the extreme). Maybe there’s a chance for me to be back in style after all…

I'm all about cheapo jeans these days.

They don't seem to last any less time than expensive selvedge and whilst you can't achieve ultimo fades with budget raw denim, there's still sufficient fading and character to be earned.

I'll pay around £20 for a pair and wear them until they fall apart. Which takes years when there's two or three pairs on rotation.

A 100% valid point. My $50 levis are probably my best fitting pair. However, i enjoy higher end denim. I enjoy the different. Weights, weaves, and cuts. If i were only factoring cost and durability i certainly wouldn’t be on TFL wasting a ton of money on over priced jackets and boots when cheaper alternatives would surely suffice.

I don't disagree. I've enjoyed wearing all sorts of weights of selvedge, I was moon-eyed over my 21oz Unbranded, and delighted in lightweight 12oz summer jeans.

But my greatest pleasure with jeans now comes from comfort and fit, and I can get just as much of that from cheap rigid raw denim.

How was your experience with the Unbranded 21oz? I have a new pair on the way. Not a stranger to heavy denim, in fact, really dig them - hence thought id pick up a pair since UB has a cult following as a quick and cool fader.

I liked them very much. Mine were the UB121 Skinny, I think - which weren't skinny at all, just a neat slim fit.

I thought they were excellent jeans, well put together, nice characterful denim, and yes some terrific fades.

They did shrink noticeably when I eventually washed them, but not disastrously, and that's too be expected anyway I suppose.

I found the weight of the denim very quickly became a non issue as they softened and broke in quite fast.

I'd happily have another pair, but if I'm honest now I prefer cheap jeans that I can simply not worry about. I was always conscious about washing and fading and wev, and I'm glad not to think about that about more.

I agree and I think it’s true for pants and shorts in general. I shell out good money for tops and jackets/coats, but when it comes to pants, I can’t tell the difference between high-end brands and Express/H&M. And I love clothes and pay high attention to details. Sure, there are interesting denim fabrics worth trying out, but generally pants and shorts are just not worth the big spending.

Selvedge vs non selvedge is a silly concept. Unless you cuff, no one (including you yourself) can tell the difference. And cuffing to show selvedge line is weird in and of itself.

Girl in my neighborhood in summer still show's her thong above the jeans waistband because it's Victoria's secret, is that a ban? Haha :p

I used to own a pair of Lucky Brand jeans. How about keeping zipper fly unzipped while we are at it?
