Still stupidly hot here in London; despite being 4th October, it's 24 Celsius today. I wish it had been "only" 24 in July and August, but I'm actually at the angry stage that it's still like that now. I have a new-to-me Schott 618 I bought a year or so ago that I've not had a chance to war out. I was hoping for this month to be tiem to break it in, but I have an awful feeling this is gonig to be one of those wrost of all climate years when

I don't know if any of you can relate to this.

I have spent this afternoon photographing and listing a whole load of jackets for eBay. One of which was this simple dark olive canvas worker-style jacket from The Stronghold.

And as I'm looking at it I thought how nice it is, and I slipped it on. And it fits just as excellently as it always did, and now for the life of me I don't know why I was going to sell it.

So I've been wearing this. And it's hanging back up by the front door, ready to deploy.

Hello everyone,
It’s been a long while since I last wandered through the Fedora Lounge and hit up the bar. Thought I’d drop by and say hello again.
I was at work on Friday and had to get gussied up for an occasion, so I put on my old ELC Luftwaffe jacket I took it off for the required photos and now wish I hadn’t.
I love this jacket and, yes, anyone who remembers me will know that I’m traditionally all about my Buzz Ricksons L2 or B-15 or my ELC RW B3 or RWB6 or Aero ANJ-3 or ELC 1942 Irvin….
But I have to say, this ELC Luftwaffe is the most versatile of all of them. You can dress it up or down and it even manages semi-formal! I think, with a black shirt and tie, it could pass muster at a funeral. I’ve always said that, as much as I’m all about USAF gear, if I had to only have one jacket or the house was on fire and I only had time to save one jacket - this would be it. I know. I love all my others, but if we’re talking practicality … here it is.
Thought I’d show it and also just let you all know that I’m not dead. Life just took me away from the bar that I once knew so well. Nice to see a lot of new faces here and the bar is busy!
Anyway, you all wear your jackets in good health and be well!
Cheers!

I’m so jealous seeing everyone wearing their beautiful leather jackets! The high temperature in San Diego was 104° today! Historical average temperatures this time of year are usually 75° to 78°. Can’t wait for cooler weather! In the meantime, I’ll live vicariously through the rest of you.
