Hitting NY in a few weeks, and looking forward to visiting the Schott store.
It's like a religious experience, a kid in a gigantic candy store. The sheer volume of jackets to try on and handle is incredible.

Maybe sift through the website first and write down the jacket styles you want to focus on, because they have almost 100 patterns in the store and it can get crazy trying to keep track of what you've tried on, what styles you prefer, etc.

The staff is incomparable in terms of their service; never on top of you but available for any questions.

long time no log in, hello all!

new acquisition: Schott SP611 Born to Ride

size medium (even though Denise told me go for the large I took a chance)

in the photo I'm about 6 ft tall maybe about 160 lb, 36 in waist, maybe about a 40 in chest

fits very similar to my size 40 613 or my size medium Vandals 568

leather is classified as steerhide which I would say is about accurate though no real lining to speak of so it somehow makes it more comfortable right out of the box

I would also say that the pattern leaves a little room around the belly encouraging me to go smaller on this as I'm already on the second to last hole on the belt

also notable this is 23.5 in. length in the back and the large is 24 in., both very short meant to look like something out of the 1980s

overall I would say I love it! definitely going to ride in it but it's going to be my kick around jacket for sure almost like a leather sweater

I don't have much time these days for following TFL, let alone posting, but I'd like to share the three leather jackets I have with me at the moment on the truck.

The first one claims to be an Iron Heart trucker but it also claims to be a Cootie production. I can't find any evidence of an Iron Heart/Cootie team up and Iron Heart UK also told me they have no record of anything like this.

Maybe it's a fake but if so, someone went to a lot of trouble. The cow hide is substantial. I really really like it. And it has the long arms and long body that some people hate about IH leather truckers. These characteristics actually make it a really great truckers jacket - the long sleeves keep the arms protected from sun while driving and the extra body length keeps it over the belt when I exit the truck.

However, it does have polyester sleeves and pocket linings. If there was one thing I'd fix, it would be that.

Best wishes to all from the Allegheny Mountains.

This looks really, really good. Do you find that there's some heft to the buttons Thedi uses? I have a buttoned double riders with buttons that I feel are a little too flimsy
Yes i also feel them a little bit fimsy
