Those Schott Bros. sure know how to make a great pattern. The Shinki adds a little something extra.

After several days of balls out sunshine, today I finally wore my NASA Mars jacket from Alpha Industries.

It's just an MA-1 L2B really, but I ruddy love it.

Anyway. After a day of glorious sunshine that with every moment made me rue the fact I wasn't on my old Triumph, it utterly cacked it down with rain. I got so wet that my glasses were opaque and my minimal hair soaked through.

And yet I remained bodily dry due to the astonishing and gleeful water resistant(proof) properties of the Alpha.

No new photos, because everything's wet, but here's my stock image.

I like the Goatskin Indy Jones jacket from Wested for a Spring/Fall lightweight jacket. No waist /wrist knits trapping body heat, nor wearing out over time. Reasonable price, customizable. I very much like the underarm gussets offered at slight extra cost. Disclaimer: NO financial interest.

My new pal Ken Hansen (photo used with his permission) stopped by my vintage jacket booth during a weekend event at the Motor Transport Museum in Campo, Cali. Campo is on Highway 94, an epic bike corridor in the mountains an hour East of San Diego. We spoke for hours, swapping many a story of great leather jackets and fine motorcycles.

Ken has on the hat and is holding the jacket he was wearing in 1962, the night his 1947 Knucklehead was stolen outside a bar in Long Beach, CA. The hat is an original Harley Brand and the jacket just has a 2X3" top/center neck tag that simply reads COWHIDE, I couldn't identify the maker.

Ken joked that he'd have probably died on that bike anyway and hoped the guy that stole it... well, I'll just leave the rest up to your imaginations!

Not today but yesterday. A chilly morning ride allowed me to wear the Buco once more before it gets too hot. (My friend with the Velocette is wearing a pretty cool jacket he got at a booth at a moto show a few years ago. Can’t remember the name.)

That Velocette is incredible! Looks like a fun day on two wheels. Cheers!

It’s such a great bike. I love the old single cylinders.
As it happens it’s only his second most desirable bike, as he also has a 1952 (I think..) Vincent! This might be of interest to @HRD The Vincent Co…:)
I have to say though, the Velocette hits me where I live even more than the Vincent.

What’s that jacket hanging in the background, do you know?
