I know this is useless without pictures but use your imagination gang haha. But it’s not a jacket and everyone will know what it looks like. Today I am wearing my Ovechkin jersey to celebrate the GR8 on tying the “unbreakable” goals record. 1 more and it’s all his!
The crazy ba***rd actually did it, crazy stuff but I'm super chuffed for Ovi :D

What a beast of a man!

Hammerheart had such a huge influence on me when I first heard it as a teenager more than 30 years ago. There are only a handful of songs within the whole genre that can match "One rode to Asa Bay" lyrically.
Hammerheart is a amazing album indeed! I really love the "viking metal" they transitioned to in the 90s(also love the older black metal stuff ofc, but almost everything Quorthon touched was/is great!) :D

Sorry for the OT all, but talking about Bathory I REALLY want a original pressing of their first album "Bathory" but they are soooo expensive.

^ super cool album though, both musically and the album art

Cheers!

I love the jacket. It is so very nice! By looking at your images, I came to the conclusion that your jacket does not have TWO side pockets, as I thought it did. At any rate, your jacket is wonderful and looking forward to your upcoming images. I am a big fan of HD jackets. I do not own your model jacket, so I am interested to compare it to my other D pocket HDs. I also believe there were 5 cycle champs made in the 50s. 4 with a D pocket and one without, produced late in 1958.

Thanks for confirming. Funny enough, I'd just seen this info on your IG

The D-pocket zipper is on a more vertical angle vs 3rd version.
Interestingly your D-pocket (left) looks somewhat wider than @TheOldFashioned's (right). Using the chest pocket as a reference.

Old fashioned variation lol

And they’re both size 38 too. I think it’s partially because he has his hand in the pocket and it’s collapsing the leather on the top of that D pocket. It’d be interesting to see this jacket laid flat and see if it is in fact old fashioned variation.

Here are my two Elvis models and the D pocket shapes do look a tad different.

Btw, for each generation Cycle Champ there seems to also be different lining variations as well.

The first gen Cycle Champ had one variation in the design (that’s the Jason Mamoa version) and then the later first gens had a slightly different design and like 4 different linings.

Here you go, gents. If you'd like anything more, let me know:

There you go! Amazing.
I jumped on the Fanatics website immediately after it happened! I just knew they would have a huge stock waiting to be released as soon as it happened and I was right. I bought a limited edition 895 puck, and then an even more limited autographed 895 puck. So pumped. My man crush fandom aside that was an absolutely beautiful ceremony. Including both teams, the league, the trainers, refs, Wayne and his wife, Ovie with his wife Nastia, two sons, mom, and step father. It was really cool that Gretzkys wife included Nastia and got her a gift. Then John Carlson and Tom Wilson came over and gave her flowers. Yes pro athletes make millions. But they are never home! It puts a ton of strain on families and the support the spouses provide is often overlooked. Classy touch. The league gets a lot wrong; they got this very right. I also enjoyed Gretz wearing the red number 9 lapel pin. Howe was there with class for Gretzky and since Howe couldn’t be here for Ovechkin, I love that Gretz “included” him in the presentation.

What a beast of a man!
Absolute monster. Plus he missed his entire rookie season and half of 2012 due to lockouts. Then two covid shortened seasons. Based on his career scoring he’d be over 1,000 goals right now, and 2nd all time in career hits. But alas that time is gone. But hey here’s a 39 year old 3rd in the league in goals, on track for 45 goals oh and he missed 16 games with a broken leg! A beast!!

Here’s some Ovie facts to blow the mind.

All time leading goal scorer, most 40 goal seasons, tied for most 50 goal seasons, most career goals by a left winger, most goals in a season by a left winger, most points for a rookie left winger, most points by a rookie Russian born player, most career goals by a Russian born player, most game opening goals, most consecutive 30 goal seasons, most road goals scored, most powerplay goals, most empty net goals, most over time goals, most goals with one franchise, most game winning goals, has scored against the most goaltenders in history.

Ilya Sorokin while having been in the league for years alongside Alex was one goalie he hadn’t scored against. Fitting he scores 895 to add another pelt to his wall.

All that while being 3rd all time in hits. 3rd! Remember prime Ovie- Freight Trains a comin!

Ok I’m done. We’re all gettin side tracked here Ovechkin, what’s metal or not haha, band recommendations. Back to regularly Scheduled jacket content.

Was going to wear my white label one pocket HD Sportster for @photo2u, but the weather said otherwise. Back to wool with Mister Freedom:

I am still in the market for that jacket in my big but 44 size. I still have my two originals I wore back in 1981 and later in 1988. They are in great condition and truly one of the best café racer style jacket. Just a step above Cal & Bates.

I haven't had a "battle jacket" for a good while so I felt the need to make one for myself :D

I went for Ghost for the back, but Motörhead would also work :D
*don't look to closely at my stitch-work lol.

I discovered while collecting hats that sometimes the cheaper item turns out to be the most fun. So I am not surprised to find myself reaching often for the Chinese hh trucker. A bit boxier pattern than ideal but really not a bad fit at all and it has received compliments.

Today, however, is cool enough for the Schott 184 complete with liner and collar - an interesting look paired with this vintage Italian Homburg.
