The Flat Head today. This arrived yesterday from another member with whom it was great to do business.. this is a grail jacket for me, have wanted one forever. Not my first Shinki, but my first Japanese made jacket. The hide is great, I’m happy with the fit, and pretty sure that I’m 76% more badass when I wear it(my wife probably doesn’t see it).

That definitely looks like the grail CW leather to me. I got my C2 a few months ago and I believe I have one as well but still need to call Vanson to determine that. .Here is mine with the garment number, curious what your jacket has for a number to see if they are close in age.

What's the benefit of that batch of old CW over other/current batches? I've queried but didn't find much about it I've recently got a Highwayman from 1995 and it surely is thick as hell, looks new (besides some sleeve rolls) but a bigger size would had worked better I think.
