What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

New Mexico is very high on my list of US States to visit (I have so far been on the East and West Coasts but nowhere else in your country). I shall bring my Commando Sweater - or rather one or two of them, as I have not just the olive but the Navy and many other colours!

Visited Santa Fe a of couple months ago and it was great. Definitely a state with some beautiful and interesting places to visit.

I owned this jacket and am still not entirely sure why I sold it.

Agreed. That jacket looks great on you. I bought this 2d hand and the seller had the sleeves shortened. Whoever did the work was highly skilled. Now the jacket is perfect for me. I’ve sold a couple other IH jackets because of the sleeve length.

Hopefully California has been treating you right.

Always does. And I’ve avoided traffic to this point so extra right this time.

I just got one of those, in blue, but I’m not sure if I got the right size.
Do you find them true to size or more fitted? What size are you wearing there if you don’t mind?
I'm pretty sure I am wearing a 42 in this, which is a size down from my typical size. It was a little snug on me, which is really why I moved it on. I would recommend going with your typical size in this jacket.

Ok, thanks, then I think I got the wrong size, too big.
I was following the measurements and they seemed correct, but I’m normally a size 40 and I got a 42, but it was a deal too good to pass.

Thedi today. Haven’t worn this for a while. Immediately had someone compliment it this morning. “That’s a really beautiful jacket!”
This never happens with any other jackets, just this one.

But that's the thing - Why would I want my pants to fade and fray??? And does the fading, fraying and all that crap really look good or have we simply been brainwashed into believing it does because Levi's wanted to peddle more shitty, cheap-ass, mass-produced pants?
I agree that fraying and holes in jeans can be a bit too much. Fading on other hand I like it but not the extreme honeycomb high contrast type of fades. I like more vintage fades that expresses the fact that the pants have been worn and lived in akin to grain on a leather jacket imho.
In fact I like to see outfits that look like they belong to the wearer, that they have had various experiences while wearing them. It tells a story about their life. Outfits that are too careful and uniform fit better in a slightly more formal setting for me.
This is the issue that I have with buying too much workwear clothing and not wearing each enough to look good. A very tidy workwear outfit looks like a costume someone rented or an advertisement.

Yes.
I remember it made me a little angry, way back when I first started seeing people buy off-the-rack ripped & torn jeans. I said I used to have those jeans, but mine were genuinely worn, nearly worn out. I earned those rips and holes.
But then... computer chips in cars made me angry too.
