I have been on the lookout for another leather trucker jacket for some time and didn't feel like dropping big $$$ on an Aero etc. So this Levis water buffalo hide trucker comes up f/s locally in my size so I went for it.
I have to say I'm impressed with this piece. The leather is very substantial with a nice handle. The various grain structures are really interesting. The leather seems better than the cowhide Schott trucker I had. This jacket punches well above the $300-$400 CAN I paid for it IMO.
Looks great. I'd definitely wear this jacket!

A 1952 dated Western jacket from Rex Bell's Frontier & Sportswear store in Las Vegas where he sold his Walking Box Brand clothing named after his Walking Box Ranch which had about 400,000 acres. Jacket is paired with a 1930's Stetson Real Nutria hat and Panhandle Slim shirt. The jacket has it's 1952 date inside of a jacket pocket.

I received my Seattle Woolen Sport Togs jacket on Saturday. The one reason I hesitated about purchasing it was due to the fact that the leather looked rather dry, dull, and faded. When it arrived, that is what it was like.

Immediately, I decided to condition it with a product I hoped would darken it a bit, so I used Smith's Leather Balm. It worked exactly as I hoped and the color has stayed the darker, richer, more red brown it turned even over a day after conditioning it and wearing it out for several hours.

Overall, I'm very happy with the style, fit, and now leather of this jacket. It's a real gem. Thanks once again to @jeo For his advice and for sending the listing to me in the first place.

Here are some photos from the seller:

Here's how it looked when I got it, in poor lighting admittedly.

Here it is after conditioning. It doesn't look wildly different here in this poor lighting, but it really is quite an improvement in person.

The jacket also felt extremely dry when I received it. All of the leather felt surprisingly dry, yet clean. It was as though someone heavily cleaned it and stripped it of its oils, but never reconditioned it.

This short aviator cross zip style has been my favorite jacket style for the last 7 years- well before I got into vintage. To have something like this feels really nice.

I love that jacket and how it fits on you! Congratulations on yet another great vintage find :)

Yeah it just has a bit of room at the bottom, but otherwise it's absolutely perfect. Thanks again for the assist! It's very satisfying to finally have something like this.

This fits you beautifully! I know the outlay was huge for it but I would take the final step and replace the tattered lining. I’m baffled by the sky high prices these jackets are commanding these days. I saw a very similar style (MW) on Etsy in 2016, mint condition for less than a quarter of the cost. I guess inflation is hitting this hobby too. Either way this jacket is a lifer so you may as well take it all the way home.
