70’s-80’s beater m/c that I freshly fine creeked. A total buster move but I hate belts. Nothing worse that a dangling ball smacker hanging around my naughty bits. I love this jacket. Collar is killer, back is sorta similar to a Schott 125 or Beck but it is what it is... Worst back ever IMO, collar save it!

I agree they are very overpriced new. i may end up keeping it due to it being such a beautiful leather. I used to work by Lewis leathers in soho and I must say I was never that impressed. I'm debating whether to sell this on account of the signatures,

Yeah I think so too, the problem I have is no provenance - I can't prove it's his - though, as I think you can't buy in the UK other than online and the signatures it seems to add up.

I may just keep and wear it (I bought it not seeing the signatures) because it's a beaut and I'd struggle to get another.

I know this is incredibly late but wow that’s an incredible story! I’ve been in contact with Addict in regards to sizing and they say the back length measured from the back of the collar is 67cm on a size 40 which seems crazy long. just curious what the length was on this jacket?

Cross zip fever has taken hold. Spamming hard with this one. Apologies. I won’t buy another. Why do the cheap ones always seem to get more wear? Why do I like them “more”? This jacket is flimsy Brooks leather and I absolutely love it. Somewhat brutal realization after 20 plus years of “collecting”and God only knows how much $ spent.

I’m off today and running errands. Time to see how I really feel about it. Site seems to be running well too.

Got caught in heavy downpour wearing my Regius aviator.

My full aniline Thedi or FL jackets are pretty much like sponges. Some pigment dyed jackets like the Shinki Schott or Nitta Double Helix do better but they still won't withstand more than 15 minutes of rain.

This vegetable tanned Hermann Oak leather aviator is pretty much waterproof, which is awesome. I want more jackets in this leather!

Interesting, because chrome-tanned leather is more water resistant than veg-tanned. Does the Hermann Oak hide have a discernible topcoat on it? Acrylic or a polyurethane topcoat usually does the trick. That, or maybe if the leather is wax-stuffed.

I used to have a mental block about beating up anything I deemed expensive. I think it has to do with the way I was brought up. Not anymore though, I have no problem beating up my expensive new jackets.

I still have that mental block when it comes to pristine vintage jackets though. I prefer wearing the ones that are cheaper and have more wear to them. That's because for me it's more about collecting, preserving and admiring them etc...and not necessarily wearing them. I will wear them on occasion but I am very mindful to wear them "lightly".

Good to see technical innovation in tanning beyond new and thicker topcoats. Looks like Hermann Oak is a hide worth getting. I guess @regius is fond of it and recommended it, or you just specified it?

Recommended by Regius. I never heard of the tannery, I don't think there's any other maker that uses HO heritage steerhide for jacket making.

It sat right on my belt line, I'd hazard shorter than the Corsair - it got sold for a pretty penny. Id have put it on closer to 24-25 inch (25 absolute tops). Have dm'ed you
