What Jacket Did You Bring To The Beach Today?

The Riri Zipper on this GW Arcadia, along with the corduroy backing in the cuffs and hem are a nice touch, but the Shinki leather is really beautiful, the oil finish just sparkles.

Got back up to my usual swim yesterday, in calmer waters that didn't challenge my sore bones. The lifeguard was waiting for me on his dune buggy all the way down at the end of the beach. He thinks I do 1000 meters, and is pushing me to do more freestyle stroke instead of lazily doing the back stroke. I think I have my a personal trainer now.

Some pictures of my brown cowhide Californian. 1960s according to the ebay listing. Slightly large in the chest I think, but I think it's an acceptable fit. Leather is pretty interesting - it has a pungent cinnamon-spice smell to it, and the leather underneath the dark brown finish is eggplant purple.

Plaidness continues. I’m taking this to my Russian tailor tomorrow to have 3” of brown heavy cowhide added to the sleeve cuffs for additional length. Dena is unavailable until after Christmas and this jacket only st me back $29 shipped so I’m not too terribly concerned about the result. Fit other than the sleeves is good.
