LW Bedford today

Have always loved the Bedord & have considered getting one for myself. Hesitant as (A) I can't tell how it might fit, might be too loose for my frame; and (B) would like to see LW's brown leather in person so I can decide on which color. (LW's brown usually appears quite orange in online photos, but I've read owners describe it as actually more chocolate in person, which I would prefer).

How would you say the Bedford design fits? What's the drop in width from shoulder to hem?

I wear a US 40-Long suit. Stand 187cm tall (6' 1.5") at 85kg (185 lbs.) with a 84cm waist (33"). Would like the coat to be roomy enough to wear a heavy wool sweater beneath in winter, but don't want to be swimming in it otherwise.

Jin is my North Star for fit. All his jackets fit amazing, even vintage. The slim build helps, but it also takes a lot of work, and some trial and error for sure.
thats very kind, much appreciated and thank you kindly. i tend to stick with patterns and designs I feel/kinda know works best for my body type/height. I'm sure if I try out a long half belt/car coat or the like would probably not work for me since I'm short.

@Jin431 @navetsea

Yes I still feel that my JL is a little bigger than I’d like…I suppose with all the police contracts they handle comfy/roomy is baked into their DNA.

That being said, I like the jacket and it’s VERY comfortable-wearing. In a holding pattern for now, but maybe will send it back to take some of the back length and slimming it, maybe not.

I also had to bring my cxl jacket back to slim the torso down so it couldn't hurt to send it back to JL like with what @Pandemic did as well.

man whoever takes this off of you will be a lucky guy. looks great.

looks like you've been wearing that LL jacket for years on end already. wow

otherwise.

That’s exactly how I like to fit my coat.
Attached one more picture me wearing the Bedford during the colder days.
The second pic was the inspiration for me to order the jacket some years ago.
I would highly recommend to contact Stuart directly, he knows his stuff.
I just gave him my body measurements and he nailed the size / fit in my opinion perfect.

I know we're not big on sweatshirts under jackets around here, but this at least attempts to get the Indian Ranger into a better place fit-wise. Still not sold on it and still up for sale overall...

Not too bad from the front (beside a little short):

But really a mess in the back:

I think with a black sweatshirt or knit sweater, or a black vest that is a little longer than the jacket, you can get a little more out of it.

I have a long tshirt with thumbhole like that sometime I wear it too, never knew it is a thing... I thought it was just practical not to get the sleeve pulled up when wearing the jacket on, now since I know, I will do it more often
