You’ve got a great collection, but this is your best and coolest. Change my mind.

It feels like a size 42 on the shoulder at 19", almost 2" too wide on me. It's 23" pit to pit, so around 4" too wide in the chest. The bottom hem is absurdly small even for me at 17", i can't really wear it zipped up (aside from taking photos lol) because i might rip the zipper tape.

With that said about the measurement issues, I don't know why it still looks the way it does on me. It's just that old Cal allure probably. . .

Pls wait 2-3 weeks for the next Cal. . .

now I think this is oversize done right :D, really, the shoulder is wider than yours, sleeve look full, a bit of material on the upper torso, but tapered well toward the waist and wrist. :)

Definitely shouldn't work on me but surprisingly it does seem to work. The excess leather is mostly on the upper/middle back which is good because I can't see that part lol

Here's a photo of the back with the jacket unzipped. When I try to zip it up, the middle and lower back has the leather bunching horizontal look

Morning walk, streets are still closed around my neighborhood just back and forth stride on my own street.

So you´re not allowed to go past your end street? That´s some harsh restriction! How do you go about shopping, visiting relatives, going to work, the doctor etc.?

On topic: At least you´re parading your hood in style...!

no, we can, just the interconnecting streets within the neighborhood are closed, so each street has separate access directly to the main street, usually I do my morning walk using thess interconnecting streets zig zagging my way within the whole complex now I can't. there is a drugstore and pet supply store nearby but now to reach them I have to walk all the way down along my own street, walk on the main street, then go in again on the parallel street behind mine and walk up again to reach the store while usually I just cut through the neighborhood... I really don't see the point why make this fuss for us pedestrian and morning walkers, morning walkers at least care a bit about their health and wear mask, and we walk very early before sun rise how do these people would spread virus while the rest of the neighborhood are still sleeping on their bed.

I was referring more to the jacket and less to the fit. Though you got this one looking excellent given your measurements and preferred look.

Thanks for the explanation. Seems quite restrictive still. Let´s talk outerwear rather than Covid again.

Stay safe!

First outings to the Saguenay region in the north with this vintage Bates. The 3 days we were there, temperature ranged between 10C and 20C daytime. With strong cold wind, wearing this jacket with a T has my ass freeze off in less than hal f an hour on the deck of a boat.

Shoulder and chest fit perfectly and very comfortable, the lower part is quite loose, would need some heavy beer and bacon diet to fill that up, lol.

Thank you, it does look the meanest jacket I have for sure even with all that said. I should add this thinner/lighter horse hide Cal is effortless to wear and is perfect for my local climate.

They must use the Juki LU-1508NH machine…
I don’t think it’s a flat bed, but a sticking out arm type. Must be the same they use to sew the briefcase together. It’s not just the thickness but the temper of the leather is in the realm of medium firm. It holds its shape well.

Could be! A shoe machine or bag machine is very likely :) how about machine to build a tank? ;)
