Those pubs are still there but the Raj is no more (with its 1983 prices). The Black Swan has become the delightful Roseleaf with fine brunches and beers. I like the Scotch Malt Whisky Society for fine drams and roaring fires. Leith is not too gentrified yet but it's changed a lot since Trainspotting. Here's to the Chief...

Your LW J23 jacket is really amazing. I was planning to order a LW Leathertogs (Bk, 3.5-4.0 oz HH with full Crown zippers), but after seeing Carlos' LW J23 (and now yours) I'm not so sure anymore. I think the J23 (Bk, 4.5 oz HH with full Crown zippers) might be more versatile (I don't only want to make a fashion statement, I'm looking for the perfect armored jacket for riding.) Like you, I often wear denim under my leather jackets. BTW is 4.5 oz too much for a J23? I have two 4.5 oz Test (Bk and Br) and I like the ******-proof armor sensation one gets from HH.

My J23 doesn't feel particularly heavy, 8.2 lbs without mouton collar is kind of medium-heavy weight for motorcycle jacket. No gusset in J23 is a deal breaker for any rider I believe.

Not a pretty jacket by any means, essentially a wool bag, but man nothing beats a pike Bros N1 when the weather turns this cold.

Thanks to the information provided by Guppy ( https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/vanson-comet-octagon-46.97854/ ) it seems to be part of a short lived collection that dates back to 2003. I was worried about the shoulder width (19 1/2 ", I usually take 18"), but I feel OK with the overall look, short and slim. The leather is nicely worn, and definitely looks and feels like cow. I've never seen this nuance of red, but it's not octagon.
