What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Worst thing about losing weight is finding out that your old favorites have become oversized for you.

LW Downtown

Back to storage goes the Downtown.
Good thing about the weight loss is that you can fit in something that didn’t fit you last time you tried:

That long HB is brilliant...good look all around!

60's White label HD Sportster I scored for $100 on the bay. Feels like horsehide (dense, thick, pretty stiff), but can't be sure. The hide has uneven grain which may indicate horse. All original Scovill zippers. Not sure if these zippers date before or after Conmar ones. Maybe Technovox can comment. The hide has tons of character (more than my other Sportster) which this ****py pic does not show. I will take better pics later in the week.

It’s been raining Vanson for me lately and I couldn’t be happier about it! This is a model C. Precursor to the model c2. It’s lovely and it is indeed longer than the C2 ( which kept me from ever ordering one), and it has a nice front drop. Thanks to @Bjorn240 i have my winter leather locked down. The quilted liner combined with the comp weight= bomb proof fortress. Go Vanson.

LOL!! That title belongs to @Mysteryo, but I will gladly serve as knight at the round table!

Arise Sir Tony of the Windy City, he who holds the Royal Order of the Black Cross-Zip, and keep the realm safe from cheap-imitation-mall-jacket-wearing marauders. Or just have supper and watch some TV. Whatever's good for you . . . :)

So in all the excitement about the zipper, I never shared proper "welcome" photos to the Premier Highwayman in Dark Blue CXL FQHH that showed up late last week. These are terrible photos, in poor light indoors, but at least they give a representation of the fit. I was so blown away by this jacket that my expression leaked into my shots here a bit:

The grey color probably comes from my camera's inability to distinguish between the grey-blue (lighter) walls and the grey-blue (darker) jacket. They are also very grainy. However I'll take proper photos when gets back from Johnson Leathers, after a new zipper is installed.

In any case it has just the right about of room for me, and I'll dial in the side adjust straps a bit to take care of little bit of a ballooning effect of the back. Due to my back shape, that's very common for me.

Dang I thought maybe the zipper had self corrected!! Looks great Randy and I’m sure Alan will do a proper job of replacing the main zip.
