Finally got home to my new Seal Vicenza Sheene. I'm really happy with the fit.

The Sheene design is one of my all time favorites and yours appears to fit to perfection. Furthermore seal Vicenza is my favorite of all skin/color combinations. Okayama along with Zimbabwe are my favorite denims. As long as you're not wearing Schitzo's crocs, you are set. :D

God I love that jacket man. Great one Fonzie. How's the leather on these? It looks quite beautiful and easy to wear. I'm sorely tempted by this exact jacket in the American walnut.

The leather is awesome, not too heavy but still thick, strong and grainy, the creases it makes are great too.
I think it's the nicest one I own. The color of the stitching thread and the dulled nickel zips gives it a very nice vintaged look.
I would say that the leather it's closer to my steerhide Kehoe than Aero cxlfqhh and it feels super comfortable with the quilted rayon-wool lining.
If I was gonna get this jacket new, I would definitely order the American walnut brown one, but in the long model (added one inch in sleeves and back) as the standard size M has the sleeves on the verge of too short at 24.5.
I wouldn't mind an inch longer in the sleeves on this one.

Looks really good to my eye man. I love the look of those windwards. There's just something a bit more classic about it than the Vanson version I had. Maybe it's the leather. Lord have mercy it was hurricane jacket today and you were lucky enough to be in the eye of the storm!

Thanks mate!
Yep, there's some crazy good looking jackets popping up left, right and centre recently!
Guppy's new Thedi takes the cake IMO though. I don't know how am I gonna stop myself from ordering one... [emoji848]

Indeed. Today is a day I wish I'd have amnesia and wake up only to be obsessed with cotton members only jackets in pastel colors or argyle socks or anything but these lovely skins tailored to a T.

Original Alpha Industries L-2B today. From my birth year 1970. I procured the blue knits from MASH Japan because the originals were done for. Fixed solidly by San Diego Leather. Together with the Indian orange lining a swell combination in my personal view.

Hi ProteinNerd, can you tell me what alterations to the design did you made and why you are sizing to a size 38 Sheene from your size 42 Board Racer. I thought the difference is more like one size. May i ask what are your measurements and which measurements has the jacket?

Thanks

@Insomnia sure.

My specs were:
Size 38 Cafe Racer base with 0.5 inches added each side of the waist measurement so it would measure 19.5.
Seal Vicenza
3 pocket style, chest pocket on left side with Talon Diamond pull
Interior pocket with no closure on opposite side to chest pocket to reduce bulk
OD contrast stitching (very subtle on a Seal Jacket)
Change the collar to the slightly smaller August collar.
Change zippered hand warmer pockets so they are down in the closed position
Single V point yoke on back - no shoulder gussets
Remove both interior and exterior kidney panel
Antique Brass hardware

As for sizing it is VERY close to my Size 42 BR (which is what I wanted, I like how it fits)

42 Board Racer:
Pit to pit: 23
Shoulders: 18

38 Sheene:
Pit to Pit 22.5
Shoulder: 18.5

So one has 0.5 inch larger chest, the other a 0.5 inch wider shoulder.

Basically I asked Carrie to match my desired measurements to the best size, I thought it would be the 40 but she was right (as usual) that a 38 with added waist would hit them and Moira at Aero nailed the measurements I requested....thanks Moira, every measurements is dead on what I requested!

I'm 5'11 and about 75kg with a 41 inch chest.

@ProteinNerd

Thank you very much. You answered all my questions.
Carrie and Moria did a great job.
I have asked because i ordered nearly the same jacket but with a Highwayman collar.
Our measurements are in shoulder, P2P nearly the same. But i will stick with my size 40 because i already have a Shenne in black FQHH and the fit is spot on.
Concerning to the Aero Cafe Racer in Stock jackets your measurements are a size 40, size 38 are much smaller in shoulder wide and P2P.

But it is not about the numbers but the fit we care and you nailed it.

I did have a size 40 cafe racer that a member took of my hands....strangely it was the sleeve length that didn't work for me but was just what he needed! Apart from that the fit was good for layering under.
It was 23 pit to pit and 19 shoulder.

Have to admit that the first time through I was looking at the loving body language and the grin on your face in the second picture. Had to remind myself the post was supposed to be about your jacket... which is also nice :)
