I know it's time to get rid of my featherweight HWM.
That's the best hide Aero has to offer IMHO. The cordo steer is the stuff of dreams. I've been steadily breaking mine in with inside wear and it still has quite a long way to go. Hopefully by the fall I can load some decent images to fully capture it's intense depth of color and magnificent grain. This IS a cracking hide. Man, such a great color/sheen. Big fan of the ripples forming in the sleeves as wellMy new-to-me heavy steerhide cordovan highwayman gets a run tonight.
Probably my favourite at the moment.

Very cool jacket, I like it.Californian Goatskin
@dan_t yep that does look the tits no doubt about it though I imagine it must weigh a ton. As an aside, you're looking in good nick yourself too. Have you been at in the gym or on an atkins diet or something? Whatever it is, you should stick at it
@dan_t , best Highwayman fit I’ve seen. Or possibly top 5. But since I can’t recall the others, designating it #1.
Fit pics......L.W. custom TEST 48 R with #10 crown zipper and detachable Mouton collar
Couldn't be happier with fit and construction.
OUTSTANDING!!!Hey guys, today it is my new Headwind USN 37J1 jacket in our new Chestnut Capeskin. This hide is amazing in hand. Thick yet light weight and very soft with insane graining. A virtual match to other examples of the grainier Cape seen in vintage photos.
Regards,
Jay
