Brand new it cost $400-500 in today's dollars, so the premium is minimal considering the age and preservation. I paid about that amount for a new (but on sale) lined Filson Mackinaw fairly recently.

Buzz Rickson's William Gibson N-3B, but a fair few lounge-adjacent (both outerwear forum and otherwise) items on for the weather.

Aero athletic sweater, Lewis RN/RAF socks, RRL trousers (which are a sort of civvy nylon blend version of the WWII Mountain trousers).

My base layer is a reproduction early 20th century henley-style wool baseball shirt.
Nice one, what size is it? Is this some Buzz Rickson collab or from the main line?

Buzz Rickson's William Gibson, "slender cut" version.

One thing I've noticed about the Buzz "slender" cut jackets, though, is that they're not an RMC-style skinny fit. Rather, where an MA-1 or N-3B would normally be designed to wear over a full flight suit (hence the massive width on issued models) as reflected in most Buzz repros of the same, the "slender" cut basically adjusts this for wear over normal clothes.

I believe this was my jacket, which I sold to Dave Sheeley. Originally I wanted him to put some low waist side adjusters to tame the flare a bit. Did you buy this from him? It looks awfully familiar!

I like the flare! I think the untucked shirt exaggerates it.

My coat is sort of tangentially related in that it’s by another maker of USN jackets.
