I have to say you don't look too happy there. I can understand why. LOL. But yes it appears you are right and Aero's pattern is accurate! I had always thought panda's type was truer to the original. The advertising drawing isn’t accurate to the OG pattern, but it looks like RC incorporated it. Well done, the original looks like this:

Today (And this week really) I wore the Johnson Barneveld Remix but I took some photos of the Shinki Rainbow Hercules for breakfast.

Neither, it was actually POLO by Ralph LaurenThanks guys for the kind words. I've got the Aero Herc too in the CXL. It's quite similar to the Rainbow Country one except there is no 1" curve in where the half belt is. The Rainbow is also an inch tighter at the chest with an inch higher arm hole but around the chest including arms is the same as the Aero. I will do a compare thread soon. Aero gives a lot of bang for the buck for the Herc jacket for sure. The Aero Herc actually cost the same as the Rainbow one in Japan for the Japanese shoppers. So in a way we (non Japan market shoppers) are getting a really good deal. Or if one is to buy the Rainbow Country jacket in Japan, they are also getting a good deal compared to the prices of Japanese jackets in the foreign markets.
On the other hand, I guess my Johnson Barneveld isn't pretty enough eh? Just kidding. It's comfortable and easy to wear and I've been wearing it all week. And it's G.O.A.T.skin...
An off topic question: Which heritage / repro brand came first? Who was really the very first modern repro brand? Aero? Or Real Mccoy? This would happen in the 80s right?
I was a Polo brand customer for the longest time! But unfortunately it was their corporate decline in overall quality that lead me to first Aero and now all the other heritage brands. I am still a fan of Ralph's personal style though.Neither, it was actually POLO by Ralph Lauren
"In 1974, Ralph Lauren outfitted the male cast of The Great Gatsby in costumes chosen from his Polo line - a 1920s-style series of men's suits and sweaters, except for the pink suit which Lauren designed especially for Robert Redford’s Jay Gatsby."
I think Ralph may have been the first to reproduce "Golden Era" clothing on a grand scale.
Perfect. I saw a pic from a wedding once where the bride arrived in a black cross zip over her wedding gown. I thought it was cool. Not sure if she took off the jacket for the actual ceremony, but would think so.
Aero majestic paired with suede Chuck T’s, like meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
This is hands down my favorite piece of clothing to wear. A rocka in this would be incredible!Lol you can really tell that I come from the OG, tailoring-focused days of this forum from how hard I cringed at leather jacket wedding wear.
This is basically the look I want to get out of an Aero Rockafella in suede.
Awesome jacket, congrats. Are those the mother of pearl buttons? They look nice.I have been wearing this new Peter's all week on the bike.
I find the front drop a bit long, it creates a bit of pouching in the front when sitting down and a bit of hourglassing in the front.
Saying that i think that once it is fully broken in it will be very comfortable, the shoulders and back feel great on the bike, great forward reach and no binding anywhere.
No regrets going for LW after being dropped by Field Leathers...

Thanks.Awesome jacket, congrats. Are those the mother of pearl buttons? They look nice.
My gripe with the FL Peter's are the square shoulders (as on almost all of his jackets).

Yes, the shoulders of the LW jacket are way better. I’m also not a fan of pointy shoulders. My gripe with the FL Peter's are the square shoulders
Amazing fit as always, you and Stu have it nailed down. I agree that the front might be a bit longer.I have been wearing this new Peter's all week on the bike.

It's also an issue I have with my FW Sunset., the back is perfect but the front drop is too long which when sitting down or getting on my vespa is a nuissance.
Sometimes it feels as if people do not actually live in their jackets when asking for such long front drops or never zip them up.
