Leather trucker today. This will do the trick for a while, I wasn’t sure about this style in a leather jacket but for 50 gbp I found out that I really really like it. I am thinking about upgrading for an Aero in their natural Italian horsehide (brass snap buttons, white contrast stitching, olive cotton drill lining) sometime in the future, maybe in a year or two. In the meantime, this is a nice beater.

Is that a cell phone pocket repair? I feel like everyone has a rectangle marking on their jeans from their cellphones, kinda like a can of chew.

I have the wallet wear on mine too :). Nice repair! I’m really getting into the decorative jean repairs. Been watching you tube videos during lockdown, and following menders on IG.

I used to do repairs with my sewing machine (super cheap from IKEA) but it broke down, so then I started experimenting with hand stitching repairs. It’s really fun, but takes a lot of time. The repairs look interesting and unique, and you can pretty much do anything you want.

Sorry if you have expanded on this somewhere else - but what do you mean? I'm curious about your thoughts on these leathers compared to each other but it isn't obvious to which one you prefer and why.
Well, that was sort of an off the cuff (puns!) remark. When typing that i had owned my first fqhh jacket for all of 30 mins so I am by no means qualified to give more than a first impression comparison. Vicenza is soft and as often mentioned requires no break in. When i got my aero vicenza half belt i threw it on and had full range of motion. 20 minutes later i was driving a car and no problem with sleeve stiffness or the collar pushing up to my chin. That fqhh new will take some breaking in is well documented here. I suppose what inspired the statement was the heft of the jacket. Vicenza presents like a heavy denim jacket. The fqhh was SUBSTANTIAL. It reminded my of what black leather jackets were like when i was a kid and first noticed cop and biker jackets.
All told i like my current set up. Brown for vicenza and black for hh
