So, the question is, has it or hasn't it been post in this thread before?

No? ??? Can this be something new???????????????? Can it????? :eeek: lollol

I could be wrong but I believe it's an FL first! :)

Fred Rich and Smith Ballew: a fantastic combination! I place Fred Rich among the top rank of the finest dance bands of the 1920s and '30s. In the band during this time were the Dorsey brothers.

Fred Rich and his Orchestra -- Wedding Bells (Are Breaking Up That Old Gang Of Mine) (1929)

Dear Miss Moonlight, I also think his version “Goodnight Sweetheart” is the best. I also like his version “The Very Thought of You,” which I like to sing to my dear wife on occasions. I also like Vera Lynn a great deal, and sang to my bride to be “A Star Fell Out of Heaven” on the night I asked for her hand in marriage after she said yes, I consider it our song, and also like to sing it to her from time to time. Best Wishes.

Oh that's lovely! The Very Thought of You is my favorite Bowlly tune. :) Whenever people ask who I mean when I mention him, that's the song I direct them to.

New songs by vintage artists on a thread asking what we're listening to? I think of this thread as what we're listening to now. If by chance a 'new to you' song happens to be on... well I've 156 Bowlly tunes, and I'd wager it would be nigh impossible to post one never posted here before.

Anyway right now I'm listening to Luck Be a Lady as sung by Brian Setzer.

Rue - Guy Lombardo and the Royal Canadians was kind of the house band for the Jones Beach Theater in the mid Seventies. I think they were also the orchestra for what ever musical was playing at JB Theater.

The people driving over would ask for "directions to da Guy Lombardo Show."

Another version of the same song from Hoagy's 1956 album (Hoagy sings Carmichael), sung by the man himself. One of my favorite jazz recordings of all times. Hoagy's just so incredibly relaxed here. Beautiful!
