What to do when you suspect a fraudulent listing?

First of all excuses if this is not the right place to post this.
As some of you probably know, a respected member hadn't post for more than 2 years. Two days ago 3 new listings from him were posted. Me, and obviously other members, felt that something was wrong: you don't buy twice the same jacket in the same size if it doesn't fit; the difference in quality of photo's and description compared to older listings was huge; and some other minor red flags.
I decided to indirectly intervene and asked for new photo's with measurements- I was ignored. I didn't want to directly express my concern out of doubt- if wrong I would probably had ruined a good member's ad.
The question is: what to do in such cases: when you feel that something is wrong, especially with long standing, really participating members? Involve the mods directly? Post your doubts in the classified? Or what else?

Report and express your concerns to the mods. They will dig into it and go from there.
