I am like the boy who finds a forgotten mint imperial in his duffle coat pocket, I missed Peppermint Candy on the radio yesterday but I then found this http://bit.ly/ifym4w.

Only prob, the firewall at work is blocking it, something to listen to when I get home.

Heard this coming from the bar next door last night. One of my favorites and it's been stuck in my head all day.

Wardell Gray - 1946 - "One For Prez" (a.k.a. How High The Moon) - a Majorly underrated tenorist IMHO, with a tragically short career...

Richard Diamond, Private Detective, "The Barton Case." How can Richard shoot people to death and then sing a love song to Helen only a couple hours later?

I love that radio show. I have all the (available) episodes on my computer. The Barton case is one of my favourites! Dick Powell, Ed Begley, Virginia Gregg...wonderful cast!!

Currently listening to...

Duke Ellington & Orchestra - "Doin' the New Low Down"

I am listening to an Al Bowlly album entitled “Goodnight Sweetheart.” He was a fine vocalist that was killed in London during an air raid during WW II. He was well known on both sides of the Atlantic, and sang with many big name bands.

^he's quintessential, as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to music of the Golden Era. His version of Goodnight Sweetheart is easily my favorite. The story of how that bomb spelled his end is heart breaking.

Listening to Maxwell DeMille's Cicada Club live broadcast. And after whatever performer, it's nice to see the patrons on the dance floor.

I think this is going to be a Sunday night ritual for me.

Dear Miss Moonlight, I also think his version “Goodnight Sweetheart” is the best. I also like his version “The Very Thought of You,” which I like to sing to my dear wife on occasions. I also like Vera Lynn a great deal, and sang to my bride to be “A Star Fell Out of Heaven” on the night I asked for her hand in marriage after she said yes, I consider it our song, and also like to sing it to her from time to time. Best Wishes.
