Yes, but it might be counter-intuitive - lower / larger armholes actually restrict movement more rather than improving it. In my opinion high armhole jackets are objectively better as long as you don't go too high to start pinching and pushing up your armpit.

I love this jacket but I'm wondering.. Here I'm wearing my jacket over a thick 21ish oz hoodie. Looks pretty awesome IMHO . I was thinking about asking my next jacket to be slightly more trim. This jacket looks good worn with a less substantial layer but it could be better?
Would a .5" reduction in bust and naval make the difference or more? Thanks for your help. I've attached a pic of the lesser fabric for reference. View attachment 691992 View attachment 691991

This looks like it fits perfectly, even if there isn't a hoodie underneath. I'd cancel the order in progress–SB is a gamble anyway–and make the most of this great jacket you have.

My advice is to be very careful and demanding in terms of pre-shipping QC (especially in terms of sizing / measurements) with SB. I've had great experience with them in terms of communication, but awful in terms of delivery. A lot of headache would have been avoided if I had been more demanding with pre-shipping QC.

IMO if they're responsive at communication but terrible at actually making the product (QC is part of this), that's completely on them.

I agree with @Aloysius - rather wear and enjoy this jacket for at least a year, only then consider other options like SB. Dealing with them is rather sketchy for sure even if you completely ignore their history with Aero.

That was about five years ago. I was getting a new jacket, the next day I was already looking for another one to buy. I think it was a game. I'm as calm as a boa constrictor today)

IMHO, you won’t even notice .5” on a heavy leather jacket like that.

John Chapman told me once that if the pattern is the right fit for your body, you should be able to look good in one or even two sizes up.

This thread has gotten very cool.
And very informative. My reason for ordering another is not due to being unhappy with the Aero in any way. Id like to have the Aero cross zip in an exciting louder leather, then a more subdued brown with straight button down. I can't imagine SB as a bad qc company with Iron Heart using them . What am I missing?

IH may be one of SB’s biggest clients (if not their biggest) and so it is easy to see how they might take extra good care of them while not paying the same attention to a customer ordering a single jacket.
I do own two SB jackets myself (one is the IH naked horsehide straight zip) and they are both well made without any flaws that I can detect.
