Yeah, now that I look at it, it has a very conservative "political" look to it. Speaking of which, why was the double breasted abandoned by politicians in the recent decades? It seems the black/navy two button single breasted has become the only suit style in the presidential wardrobe since the...
The cut and style seems a little too short and fitted to be early '50s. The R in the circle on the company label also makes me think it's early '60s at the latest. The big lapels seem a little too big for the era, but it may have been designed to sport the older pre-WWII look.
I picked up this sport/orphaned jacket the other day, and I'm quite baffled by it. I'm torn between if it's a definite '60s jacket or a pre-1930's one. It's style is very '60s, with it's narrow lapels that lack buttonholes and the fact that it's a double breasted with a center vent, albeit a...
Orphaned suit jacket. It lacks a union label but I'm guessing it's from the late '40s from color, ventless back, slanted breast pocket, lapel shape, and functional lapel buttonhole. Anyone more experienced want to take a guess?
I just saw "The Black Cat" (1934) with Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff in my Horror Films class and absolutely loved it! Karloff's Art Deco fortress is pure eye candy.

Myth busting indeed! A double breasted, notch lapel with only 1 buttonhole circa 1946? It could be possible that either the owner wanted an old fashioned pre-1930 style jacket, or it was for a period movie. Otherwise at first glance the jacket looks 1990's.
I'm no vintage clothes expert, but I must say after 2 1/2 years of being a Fedora Lounge member my knowledge of vintage clothing has sky rocketed. 2 years ago, I would just go to a vintage store and look for what the store labeled as '20s-'50s, but thanks to spending time browsing the lounge and...
XD We all just happen to be wearing caps that day. My friend in the brown jacket was a die hard flat cap wearer until I gave him a fedora for Christmas.
