    Post New Hats Here!

It's here! Three-plus months since I ordered it, my Akubra Campdraft in Silverbelly arrived today. Just as I'm heading out of town on business for a few days. I guess I'll have to wait until I return to crease and shape it. I don't even have time to see if the fit is right or not!

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

Here is something I'm noticing that seems to becoming a trend: motorists stopping three or four car lengths behind the car in front of them at a stop light. I mean, WTF? Back when I was learning to drive, and there was real driver's education, I was told to keep about three feet between you...

One of my two best-fitting hats, the Mallory Eagle, paired with my new Aero A2. Just before going to the barber.

    Fit Pic Techniques

I am the world's worst selfie-taker. If I'm serious about a fit pic (or just about anything, for that matter), I'll pull out my DSLR, tripod, and even backdrop material (which I'm just starting to use). I usually use a timer, because using a remote means I have to use a hand to activate the...

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I just finished watching Netflix's "The Titan." That's one hour and 37 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

    Guitars

Just got a new guitar - A G&L Tribute Legacy. The color is "Irish Ale." I got it at the proverbial "deal I couldn't refuse." I've never owned a G&L before, but I continue to read good things about them (for those in the dark, G&L is "George and Leo (Fender)," the company Leo created after he...

    This or That

This has become my go-to video every time I get a new guitar. Walsh may be a few bricks shy of a load, but he knows his guitars!

Ask a question, get an answer

I have a tea kettle. An electric one, but it will spew steam from the spout if left on long enough. I also have a steam iron that will exude steam in bursts. The video (thanks, @Tukwila) was very informative. It seems the steam is more to "cement" the shape, am I right?

Ask a question, get an answer

While I'm waiting for my Akubra Campdraft (seems Australian Post is holding up a lot of things these days), it occurs to me that I might not actually know how to shape the crown. I vaguely recall from my youth shaping a cowboy hat by simply mashing and bashing it, but now I'm thinking that may...

    Show us your photography

When I actually made money taking photographs, I really liked shooting and developing in B&W. I still visualize a lot of my shots that way. On the other hand, when I try to get "arty," I usually come up short. This photo is NOT black and white. I call it "Black and White and Red all over."...

Universal truth: If it moves and it shouldn't, duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, WD-40.
