After downloading virtually every picture in this thread, I've concluded this one is my favorite:
I need to take a photo like that.
This thread has been an invaluable resource. Thanks for all the contributions.
This place will ruin you for other forums or networks. The attitude here is just so pleasant, that often times seeing another forum is a bit of a shocking experience. I've been very spoiled by the people here.
I'm a member of many boards, but I rarely post on any of them but this one. Most of...
After looking at the pics again I definitely think showering it would solve any fit issues. You could probably stand to lose about a half-inch on the sleeves and body, which are typical results of a good watering, and additionally it looks like you have a little bit of extra material on the...
I think it's just slightly too baggy, and a tad long.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and recommend the shower treatment, as I think it will take care of the issue entirely. Just make sure you want to keep the jacket before you do that...
Hep, I have another question for you - were these jackets ever made with fold collars back in the day? I rather like the "shirt" style collar look over the elastic one, but I'm just not sure how period accurate that would be...
I'm having a real hard time finding any pictoral history of these...
That looks real swell, Hepville. You've got talent! Looks like an original no doubt, even down to the fabrics used.
Are you making these for customers per chance?
Actually, I think they were having a special just today when I was looking at them. I'm so used to just blowing off the "fluff" discounts that most places practice these days, I must not have really noticed it. I'll keep that in mind and hope I can strike a good deal, if I decide on this model...
Well heck, I was called a prep in high school (and by some of friend's parents nonetheless) for wearing a seersucker shirt and khakis with a grey denim flight jacket and jump boots. I think it's meaning in the past decade has been somewhat loosely defined.
Then again I was also continuously...
I had looked at their site briefly before on my search, but I hadn't checked out the design-your-own page until just now. That's a possibility. I really like the customization options and the "retro" style looks pretty well fitting. The price isn't criminal but it's a bit more than I'd like to...
Did a search on these and found a number of threads, but none of them really "took off" so to speak, so I really didn't get that much information.
I'm getting more into the 50's scene, and in so doing I'm now on the lookout for a real classic-looking letterman jacket.
I think I prefer the...
The "L@@K" thing ticks me off to an extreme. Any listing that includes that anywhere in the title warrants my disinterest, regardless of whatever vintage treasure it may be.
The main reason I'm making this post at all is so that I can let CRH know that I look behind myself every time I see...
The post-2001 Ocean's Eleven series. I've had friends and family that have sworn by these movies for years, calling them the coolest things they've ever seen and insisting that I am missing out.
The terrible plot elements and unfathomable premise, the awful displays of "high culture" (yeah...
I picked up a pair of Carolina 12" engineers recently in preparation for my motorcycle.
They're brand new, "only worn once" according to the seller, and in my size. Came with the original wrapping paper in the box, with a $120 price tag on it.
$50 shipped on eBay.
I've had my doubts about this new installment since hearing about it a couple of years ago, but those photos seem to have changed my mind. Now I'm really looking forward to it!
It looks like they've got the WWII details down pretty good. Love that MLA bike!
TO JB
JB, now I don't want to insinuate any type of offensive negativity towards your family. But let me just say, that for the record, this is easily one of the stupidest situations I've ever encountered.
I'm a "big picture" guy, and conflicts based on meaningless details and vague...
The Corsair always seems to be left out - it's always one of those "oh yeah, I forgot about that one!" type of deals for me.
Goodness knows why though. One of the most beautifully designed planes that ever flew - and powerful mean looking too. Not to mention it's performances!
