It's pretty rough to come back from an extended absence on this board and find out one of my better friends here has passed away.
I'm pretty saddened by this. He'll be missed by me...
Wishing you all the best, CJ.
That's a beautiful aircraft.
Still got nothing on that purty FW-190, though.
I would love to have seen this...awesome machine. And authentic no doubt.
Lucky you, thanks for the picture!
Here's my updated contribution. This is the current arsenal.
My pride and joy is my .357 carbine. It's probably my favorite gun (even though I don't really have a favorite), just for the amount of work and customization I put into it.
It's a Rossi '92 (a Winchester clone, very popular in the...
Today I remembered why I like the Goodwill store.
I hadn't been in a long, long time, figuring my luck was run out since I haven't found anything worth noting in almost a year. But today I decide to randomly stop in and take a look around.
I find an unassuming, dirty old cowboy hat thrown...
I finally got my pre-order squared away with Gamestop. They have a few little perks that might be worth it for anyone who is thinking about it...
Can't wait to get my hands on this.
I still think the hats look bad, though.
How about some B-17/B-24 nose art panels?
Might not be historically inclined as such displays were not likely to be made until after WWII...but definitely gets the point across. You'd have to be an idiot to walk into an office with those on the walls and not "get it".
Lots of people sell...
I'm about to give this a shot with an Akubra Boss of the Plains. With a 6 1/2" crown and 3 1/4" brim, I'll have a lot to work with. Can't wait to show it off!
Wow Indycop, I think you pretty much just sealed this thread. No more questions from me!
Are you a wizard? 0_0
Thanks to everyone for the help and replies. Judging from these photos I think the BOTP wins. When creased the crown does not seem too excessive as I feared. I'll probably trim the...
I don't know 0_0.
May be too much of a good thing. I almost always find a way to complain about a crown being too short, but...that's one heck of a skyscraper.
Did any hats in the 30's ever reach that height? As if somehow historical connotation will make it look less wonky on my head, right?
The hat's intended purpose is a go-and-grab everyday fedora that I can throw around and wear all the time with anything. Soft, floppy, full of creases - that Indiana Jones kind of look and texture but on a different hat. If that makes any sense. I say boo to the bound edge for two different...
That black Squatter looks awful familiar, Monbla. Mine was near identical when it was new. But since then I've given it a much different shape. I reblocked the crown and creased the brim so that it flares up on the sides. I like it this way...very "stockman".
Here's a bad picture of what I mean...
These are way too cool for school.
I've never heard of this before. Just recently I was turned onto the world of "Copper By Bell" Indian jewelry from the 30's-60's which seems like a similar category. I will be keeping an eye out fr this stuff.
Hey fellas -
Word on the street is that Jerekson is thinking about adding Akubra no. 5 to his collection.
I know what I want to do. I want to get a hat with a wide brim and a tall untapered crown (I could block it myself if it comes down to that). My ideal specs are a 5 3/4 in crown and about...
I'm thinking about pre-ordering this. Trying to decide if it's worth it.
I think this will doa nice job of filling the void left by Mafia II. Mafia II was fun but it was a little too generic for my tastes. Hopefully this game will be much more detail-oriented/historically accurate. But after...
Hey fellas, I'm thinking about getting one of these beauties in a light color (silverbelly or the like), and then putting a mid brown 1 1/8in. fedora ribbon on it. I've always wanted a light colored hat with a brown ribbon...the Campdraft has close to the specs that I had in mind, so I figure...
