Sounds like it's out of their hands.
Please continue to be patient. I'm sure you are already aware of how happy and satisfied you will be when you get it and being in Calgary, there's always the liklihood you'll still get wear out of it 'til May !

If only some of it actually had even a vague resemblance to the original articles Paddy, that would have been a great link. I was most disappointed to see a trapper hat being marketed under Scott's name.

Thanks Jim. I'd assumed it would be of a quality of material and workmanship similar to Carhartt or Oshkosh :-)
I won't argue with a from the horses' mouth endorsement. Shame they're not made in the USA though .....
Dave
Only for a hat that i expect not to cost that much - not a flight jacket. I have enough common sense to temper my interests to a sane limit ! ;-)
Thanks for the tip Jim. But as it says 'thin, unlined and made in Bangladesh, is it quality ?
Dave
Well i was thinking of a Buzz Rickson type quality repro' ........ if such a thing exists ......... NOT some cheap, tacky thin and elasticated headbanded trash.
Andy, if you already have too many jackets and need to sell this one but have other jacketS on order, you are a man in trouble !!
Good luck with the sale of your lovely jacket. Expect to regret selling it about 10 minutes after you've sold it. I speak from experience !

I have to say that whilst my goat Cable was pretty stiff when i got it last year, it has softened up nicely with a lot of wear and a little artificial water treatment early doors.
However, the gloves I have are of a completely different and much softer goat and there was no appreciable breaking...
The Eastman ones are very good indeed. They ought to be for £90 !!!!!
I'll be putting a pair of size 11's on Ebay in the next week or so as i have too many gloves and am getting out of collecting and focussing on my motorbikes more. So keep your eyes peeled. Oh, and Eastman ones seem to run a...
Sorry, the N-3b offer was aimed at griff as he's in Norway. I would assume you, being based in the US, would know all about the N-3b.
Although my buddy usually has half a dozen Mk III's hanging about in his surplus shop.
Dave
I would recommend an N3 or N-3a or N-3b parka.
I have a mate who is selling an olive green N3 as well as a blue N-3a. PM me your e-mail adderss and I'll put you in touch.
I have one (can't show photos as I'm at work). They are a seriously good bit of kit.
The N-2's are good if you want...
Well, I suppose a B-15C might be ok - with ohter layers on under it. BUT your butt's gonna get cold !
A B-11 parka perhaps ................ ? It's a flight jacket you specifically want is it ? As generally they were designed to be worn with pants as a combination in really cold weather.
Dave
No real warmth to speak of. It is waterproof (lined in ventile) but only has a nylon mesh interliner between the gaberdine and ventile. You would need a couple of thinner layers under it and even then, it wouldn't be good for -25 celcius or farenheit. Just general spring and autumn in the US and...
That's Silvermans !!
No, £350 is the price per unit on the jackets to the MoD. I know that from a contact at the main makers. I also know he provided Silvermans with the 'VERY slight' seconds at a cut down rate .......
Also, once, a few years ago, I went into Silvermans wearing one of the...
So who's going to tell Jimmy Dean or Brando or any of the tens of thousands of young aircrew who wore their collars up for swagger that they are/were 'affected' ?
Anyone want to tell Bogart he was 'affected' for wearing his trenchcoat collar up or having his hat at a non-sensible angle ...
Be aware that they have a chest and varying heights. I'd say go for a height up from your own as they were made to be worn with high waisted trousers so are a bit short ..............
Great jackets though, with a quality gaberdine outer and lined with ventile of course !
always some on...
No offence fella but don't you think that affectation is half of what this site is about ? One might argue that your avatar is 'affected' ! ;)
We are all Dandies of one sort or another on here. We try to look a little 'different' in some way and often put a great deal of thought into how we...
You can't beat a good conspiracy. It appeals to our untrusting of Government nature.
There's a similar one about a so-called German large-scale raid on the East coast of England which was nothing of the sort. But the belief still persists.
