This sweet girlie is 9! She is obsessed with llamas, so of course Mama made her a llama cake to celebrate her day. (This also means I am a year older as well... my birthday is a week before hers.) Hi! This school year is kicking my butt, so I am doing some simple dinners. Last night was one of them. Mesquite grilled Sockeye (lemon pepper, garlic, coarse Kosher salt, olive oil), and a spinach-and-Swiss-chard salad with miso dressing, cashews, almonds, and crispy wonton strips (salad kit)...- Babydoll

They used a product called Surgicel on her finger to get the bleeding to stop. As she completely detached the tip pad (yikes), there was nothing to sew back on, and so the used the Surgicel to fill the gap. My version of pozole. Pork, spices, broth, onion, tomato, jalapeno, cilantro, corn. Served with tortilla chips and guacamole on the side. Omg! Leftovers for days. So excited.- Babydoll

Lily came up with an interesting story to tell the kids at school about how she got hurt. Ninjas broke in to our house and she grabbed her light saber to fight them off. During the battle, a piece of light saber broke off and cut off her finger tip. But she took it bravely, like a Jedi!- Babydoll

My poor baby. She accidentally cut the tip off her finger with a pair of scissors today and ended up in the ER. Took over 2 hours to stop the bleeding. She will recover eventually, but for now she is not feeling so good.- Babydoll

Pumpkin pancakes. I cheated and used pancake mix (Krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix), and added 2/3 cup pumpkin puree, a few shakes of cinnamon and nutmeg, a splash of vanilla, and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Served with butter and maple syrup. Light and fluffy! Leftovers made and frozen for a quick...- Babydoll
