I guess it really depends for me. I have a modern Stetson that has a pin on it and I haven't thought of removing it for two years; that is until recently (and before this post was started).
I have a Bailey cap with a pin as well, but I don't think it could be removed even if I wanted to...
The conformer is just fine. Course, I used a red sharpie on my head to make "dots" on where I placed the conformer--so until I washed my face again, I kept looking in the mirror and thinking that the conformer had made me bleed...:eusa_doh:
This is absolutely not an Indy-influenced picture, but the fedora in this high school graduation picture was a Indiana Jones marketed wool fedora; and the first I ever owned. I got it off ebay from some seller for probably twenty dollars four or five years ago. I actually don't have it...
I would most definitely have a crime/detective show. I'd love to have something along the lines of Richard Diamond; the mixture of comedy and mystery in that show was just superb. Like all the other crime shows, it would probably end up being sponsored by a cigarette company, though other than...
Hmm...guess I'm not sure how easy it would be for mine to be vintage. Those driver's license pictures don't show much of your shirt, and they don't let you wear a hat, so a fedora is out of the picture...[huh]
I would like to give my blessings to all those who have posted on this thread. What you have experienced and the strength you have displayed to get through it is astounding.
After reading through the posts on this thread, the majority of us have had to face deaths of people close to us...
I think it's a lifelong process. I expect to have periods of time where I am better at going with the flow, and then sometimes where I'm just the most stubborn fellow around; and the most tense. Life sure is funny that way...:eusa_doh:
I always have to try and remind myself that things generally seem to have a way of working out. I'm one of those people who likes to have life in control, and my hands in the reigns (so to speak) at all times; so when things out of my control start to happen, I'm generally not that happy...
I just finalized my new toy this afternoon. I purchased a non-working 1960's black rotary phone, removed the wall cord and the original handset. Now I just sit the bluetooth handset on top of it. Only problem is, when I'm bored doing homework or casework, I'm going to sit at my desk spinning...
I listen to ED fm every once in a while. Other than that, 770 AM for Coast to Coast AM at times. Beyond that, I'm all CD's and MP3's.
Haven't heard Santa Fe's new station yet; didn't know they had one. Guess that shows how well I keep up.
Before I found this one, I'd never seen one before either. The one pictured is circa 1958. It is a manual wind, yet the direct reads were apparently watch manufacturer's first attempt at a "digital watch". If I understand correctly, they didn't catch on too well at that time, causes...
My favorite is my Benrus Dial-o-Rama; the watch in the upper part of the picture. It stuck out at me (for obvious reasons) when I found it in a watch repair store about three years ago. Worn it quite frequently since. It's sadly in the shop for cleaning and oiling; can't wait to get it back...
It's amazing how much the sodas make a difference. My dad told me sometime in the past year that if you cut out sodas, but change absolutely nothing else about your diet or exercise routine, you naturally lose 15 pounds over the course of a year. That is am amazing difference.
I've cut out...
It usually takes a few hours upon waking up for me to develop an appetite. On those days, I just have a glass or two of water, and a cup or two of coffee.
When I'm in the mood for a good breakfast though, I have a few personal favorites.
I love a good vegetable or green chile omelet...
