In addition to the instinctive exterior shot(s), clear photos of the interior (sweat band, ribbon, tags, and liner trademark printing) will be essential for the experts here to judge the vintage. Sounds like an interesting find.

I think it's interesting that there are wear marks on the instep. Perhaps this person spent more time at the bar with a foot up on the rail than he did going to church on Sundays. ;) :D
