Oh yeah, and I got this cold weather cap (with flaps) originally sold at Saks Fifth Ave.
I'm clowning around in the thing but it is actually high quality merchandise. I'd like to sell it to someone who could use it practically. With 'flaps-down' I'd equate the size to about 7-1/4 to 7-1/2.
I don't mind them. Owned several and still have a few. They are reserved for rough wear, though. With no liners and with cloth sweat bands, I find them comfortable in hot conditions.
Here's my wool brimmed hats:
"Flex-Felt"
Bailey (I like the color on this one)
Broner
Another...
Today's thrift store haul:
Nokona boots
Hunting cap from Saks Fifth Avenue (has flaps too)
Some very, very nice quality flat caps
And scarves/mufflers
All for $30! :D
I hope this stimulates some advice as I have recently been entertaining the same idea.
My thinking, however, includes getting some in-person instruction. I cannot imagine learning something like this without that. I figured someday I'd swallow my man-pride and go into one of the big fabric...
HeckifIknow, jwalls. Sorry. But hopefully one of the experts will have some info.

I too, could use help. I need to obtain and install a proper ribbon on the topper I posted above. Advice on getting the material and how to style it would be appreciated.
Yeah, well, umm.... D-Man competes (or did) at curling and from what I gather he's very good at it. So, although that tam is certainly fun and colorful, it is 'for real' where he's concerned - if that makes sense. :)
Welcome, Scott.
You need to use a separate account like Photobucket to first load your pictures there and then link the images to this site. G'luck - we wanna' see your hats. :)
