Nope, not here. In Miami, maybe, but in a lot of inland parts of Florida there is still a lot of agriculture. Also cattle and dairy farms, as well as horse racing and show horse activities in a variety of forms. Plenty of rodeos too. I live not too far down the road from Ocala where the horse...
You got it, man. By the way, I believe "Medalist" referred to a time when (at World's Fairs and the like) hat companies would receive medals in prestigious quality competitions, similar to certain wines and Hohner harmonicas, etc. That's why you see actual medals depicted in some old company...
Superb series of hat pix from the regulars and a couple new members. Hats off to all of you! :eusa_clap
{And thanks, GCLark for goin' off-topic to show that jacket. It really is wonderful. :) }
First, welcome!
Second, super vintage hat pick-ups!!

Hey, that's nice. I'd look for a tan/greyish beige suit. Maybe something with a window pane pattern. Having the suit a lighter color than the hat would be fantastic. But I can picture an entirely brown ensemble looking good too.
There don't seem to be quite as many shades of dark brown as...
Yes - I used his auction photos as you can see. One of my earlier vintage fedora purchases and now, like you, I no longer care much for this version of the Dobbs Twenty. Too stingy and tapered.
