If I remember, dosn't LW have some smaller sizes on their SALE part of the website. might not be the style you are looking for, but I remember them as being great deals. A Ryder I think and some others.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm surprised one could add a sheepskin lining and the jacket would still work just as well--or even better as you say--through the shoulders and chest. Really interesting. Has anyone else added a sheepskin lining to a jacket? That's something I'd be interested in knowing.
This is so subject a comment, I hesitate even making it...First, I have all but GoodWear on your list. One of the first jackets I bought was a Schott in 1982 and still looks great. I also have older Aeros bought second-hand that are awesome. A Vanson bike jacket I never wear--but it's also a...
Thank you. I have Lexol (in a bottle) and have used it on an old goat and a very old HH jacket, and it was excellent. I also have the Langlitz cream here, which I think is silicon based. The jacket isn't "flaking"--not gone that way yet, I wore it yesterday and it still has a lot of flex. Just...
I'm sorting jackets, and found an old (1980s) sheepskin, brown, creased, that fits me again! The surface is dry and crinkly...not been worn in 20+ years. Does one use anything on these....or just let it go? I have another, about same age, that still feels rubbery, less papery....
Thanks, Mark
I never like buttons on these jackets. it's cold out when i wear them and i dont want to fuss. maybe all the veste rallye owners on the site have better info. i'm sure Aero would do snaps or closed cuffs. i also think what lining you choose, sleeve lining as well, is an important part of the jacket.

Absolutely. I have a pair of 405s and they are great for the feet. They come w/o insoles so my orthotics and lifts work well. They are superb. Also, be careful when sizing, I thought at first I needed an E, but the D proved to work better w/break-in.
Another choice is custom, if you have...
How about this, sheepskin version:

I had a white shearling like those artics a long time ago. WARM and NICE. Went off to the special leather cleaning people once----and they were good no more. Sad.
So you do want to find the...
Great-looking jacket. I'd keep it. I agree, the length is good. But, in the shoulders, if the jacket was actually "fitted" or measured for you, they would put the shoulder seam atop the end of your blade. As it fits you now, it "corners" the shoulder, adding an inch to your sleeves as well...
I have to wear a lift in my right shoe, ruling out most regular shoes and ruling in boots with higher instep to accommodate it. I've found any Redwing with a Moc toe. Trask, while not a moc toe, has a high enough instep for me if I buy them a half-size big. Chippewa moc toes work too. I dont...
At half the price and new? Ryder...I like breaking in my own jackets. And the 3oz. ought to be really nice. LW 4oz, takes your whole life to break in. -Mark
If the jacket is a bit large on you, the front may not break in w/o a lot of stuff that's been mentioned already, but the sleeves, back and shoulders should all be soft and pliable by now.
I have a black Schott HH that is 25 years old, worn a lot for several years way-back in all kinds of...
Let me add...
...that I wouldn't necessarily get a jacket from Horten or Korea to duplicate a stock item from a manufacturer of excellent repute, in order to save a few hundred dollars----they will never match it to your real or perceived satisfaction: but in the case where the customization to...
Horten
A friend had a thin olive naked-cow jacket that I asked about. A bit western in style. Like a blazer but with five buttons and a yoke. He works in merchandising and they source run-of-the-mill stuff from them, nothing you would want. However, he had them make this jacket custom, based on...
Another Idea
...Pakistan.
If you want a complete custom job, every aspect, with about 10 measurements--especially if you are considering naked/topgrain cow, there are a couple outfits in Pakistan, like Horten Int'l, that will source great leather if you request it, and do the work and walk you...
The best goat I've seen is on the Langlitz Cascade. Langlitz also has a heavy rough cow (kind of stuff they use to make the labels on the back of jeans) that is pretty thick. But if you want the toughest, thickest try ELK. You'd probably have to have someone source it and make it. I have an elk...
I have one. I like it a lot. I'm a 42R in a suit coat, and I have a large. It is cut a bit full, wide shoulders. I might be better off in a medium, but on the other hand I often wear it over a sweater or heavy shirt and it feels good.
