No, Red, the newer parabuntal is not this fine of weave. It came in a cardboard box with the Borsalino sticker on the side. Looks to be an original shipping box.
Retail on the Milan Stratoliner is closer to $102.50 plus shipping. This came to me for $65 plus shipping.
Next up is my new vintage Borsalino Parabuntal straw. I was thinking on taking this to my niece's wedding, but my family can be a little rough so I may leave this beauty safe at home. Nothing is as light as this parabuntal straw. Lighter than a feather or a tissue, this feels like it might...
I took a gamble on a modern Milan Stratoliner. Pretty good quality, a little big, as my noggin runs between 7-3/8 and 7-1/2, so this is expected. But I really like the hat. This is the sand color and I like that a lot, too. I got this from ebay, but through fellow FL'r Mike @Monavillecowboy...
Out early to pick up a little ac unit for another 107 degree day. The Royal Stetson from @Wesslyn , a sweet lid for a great price, and at 7-3/8 LO it fits like a custom! Sorry for the dark pic.
Definitely straw for later, maybe a Borsalino parabuntal straw!
Mountains? Snowy River would be my pick.
Only 1 hat? I'm going to my niece's wedding and I told my wife this morning, "I should be able to get by with only 3 hats this weekend..." LOL.
I sent him my $35 Milan to fix, change out the sweat and add a new pug or ribbon... and a hat body to make me a fine 400-484 wpsi Cuenca toquilla straw.
