John also gets some imported, European and south American IIRC, felts in both rabbit and beaver. You can tell the quality in your hands if you are ever in his shop, and those felts understandably command higher prices in the finished hats.
Off to get more camp fuel after a pretty thorough cleaning yesterday with nothing more than distilled white vinegar, full strength and a toothbrush. A good brushing with a hat sponge and horsehair brush after the felt dried.
Champ, grey felt, silver ribbon/bow treatment. Thanks to @Wesslyn...
I love this one, and that twisted knot in the bow makes me crazy.... AND the fray as well??? A favorite of mine. I'm having a very hard time deciding between this Tankersley and the Rodolfo ribbon on my dark moss.... not enough money for both, if I want to live to enjoy the hat, LOL. General...

One heck of an entrance! What a gorgeous Playboy! It's a style I've been looking at seriously for quite awhile, and it fits you perfectly. Welcome to the FL!
A new to me Champ that is different than the other two I have. This one has different felt; thicker and a bit softer. This is a dirty one, with mothing as well. Lots of stains to try and clean with naptha, etc.
The curiosity to me is the unreeded sweat (usually signifying an older hat...
I really like your new Gannon in pecan/ashen green. Big fan of the double winged bow, and double highlights that you and Michael create. Que maravilloso mi hermano!
