First off, Welcome to the Lounge, kwmpa!
I'm going to guess that you want Yacht Club, not U.S. Navy.
This has been a topic previously, but before Lancaster Caps went out of business. I got curious and did a few Google searches and came up with a yacht club uniform supply web site, Captain's...
The writing's on the wall
I find it somewhat amusing that the woman goes on about the lack of handwritten thank-you notes, yet sends this vitrolic missive via e-mail. Shouldn't it have been handwritten and sent through the Post? Just wondering...

Tom
The Scotsman
:offtopic:Here's a link to the lyrics of The Scotsman. There's a link to play the song on that page as well. Enjoy!
And now, back to our regularly scheduled program.
Cheers,
Tom
Nice Toppers Get Top Dollar
I rarely see top hats in larger sizes, much less in good condition, the odd times I look at the category. Here are a couple of very nice top hats in 7 3/8 that did well on Sunday.
First up a Colbert from Marshall Field & Company:
And next a Borsalino:
The...
Apparently it doesn't; it's now part of "Memory Lane" which has made it even more difficult and annoying to use with lots of extraneous stuff that I thought I was paying not to deal with when I bought a Gold membership.
One of the good things about it was that you could look at the list of...
I remember going with my father to the local A&W to buy a gallon of root beer. It came in returnable glass bottles. Getting it was a special treat! These days when I see an A&W it's usually sharing space with another brand. In Portsmouth, OH it's with Long John Silvers.
I have a number of...
Hatsenough,
That box looks like a box for a top hat. It's shape is the same general shape of many top hat boxes I've seen on eBay, many of them leather or other materials.
Cheers,
Tom
Yup, that's pretty cool when it happens. I was quite pleased to win a hat that was owned by a Nevada politician who had ties to a casino in Cuba in the '50s. I'm not sure that the grandson who sold the hat and had proudly put his grandfather's name in the ad expected that casino info to surface...
One thing that tends to surprise (US) civilians is that (US) military do not recite the Pledge of Allegiance when in uniform. If outside and the Pledge is being said we stand at attention, face the flag, and salute but remain silent. If indoors, we stand at attention and remain silent.
As my...
Not quite true. There are people out there that will bid in increments to find your maximum bid. I've seen more than one auction where it was obvious that an early bidder had put in their maximum bid and someone else had come along and ratcheted up the price a bit at a time, sometimes abandoning...
What is fair market practice? I use a sniper for the same reasons as has been put forth by others, i.e. not wanting to be chained to my computer or stay up all night to monitor an auction but I also use it to overcome a severe disadvantage: I use Hughes.net for Internet access as my choices are...
Current employees have become former employees based on what they've posted on Facebook, as well. Some people just don't get it that they've given up their privacy when they start posting online.

I've always pumped the gas when with a woman in her car whether she is driving or I am. Before my wife and I got married she'd hand me her credit card to use when filling up her car before I got out. I was quite amused the first time we stopped for gas for her car after she accepted my marriage...
I didn't consider that. Doran. Everyone I know that has a doctorate did it under the working/married with kids constraints, so that's where my admiration comes from.
:eusa_clap:eusa_clapCongratulations, Dr. Doran! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap
I'm working on a Masters in IT. Someone asked me if I was planning on going for a Ph.D after I complete the Masters. I asked them "Do you see a gun to my head?"
I have a lot of respect for people like you who do have the...
I made the mistake of thinking I'd make a final decision on whether or not to set a sniper on this blue 7 3/8 Portis when I got home from work today, depending on whether the bidding had continued inching the price up. Unfortunately, due to working an Internet outage at one of my sites until...
...a lot of things! But I do own a lot of things that are being listed here, and use them. Don't really have an interest in a game console, though I suppose if I really wanted to play a game I would just install one on my computer and use that.
I like and use some vintagey things instead of...
I wouldn't say "anywhere." I live in an area that is considered part of Appalachia on it's western edge, and it's not all that great--poor, high unemployment, not much going for it culture-wise. I won't disagree that there are much nicer areas within Appalachia, though!
Cheers,
Tom
You're right, Tom. I've been fishing in the bay for them for a few days now, and came across a stash of NOS combs. They weren't the all-fine-tooth model I prefer but the half fine tooth, half wide tooth model but as Mom says, beggars can't be choosers!
That may be it, but they may have been...
