Looks nice; unfortunately "7" is rather small. A question concerining terminology. I have often read people refering to the rake of a hat ... "not a great fan of rake on my hats" I assume it has something to do with inclination or gradient of the crown / crease, but what do you mean exactly?- Steinbockhase

Loungers' Pets
My Podengo mix "Jimmy" celebrated his 16th birthday last weekend. Almost deaf, short-winded and a hard time walking; but we are making the best of the time he has left. He was once completely black, besides the chest. I'm getting just as grey as him; out of solidarity :-) .- Steinbockhase

I think "relodn" have sold most of their hats in average sizes 57-59cm; what you see on eBay now is mostly 54-56cm and some 60-61cm. I bought 3 or 4 hats from them which were actually smaller than on the tag; maybe the felt shrunk over the years, because of bad (humid) storage? I had some...- Steinbockhase

Hi Daniele, did you buy these hats from Italian eBay user "atelierdescharliecanari" ? They look like hats he has been offering; very many of his hats are small sizes. Just like the Italian eBay user "relodn"; his hats are more recent, but mostly small sizes.- Steinbockhase

Today's straw is a Stetson "Jenkins Montecristi" Panama. It has a nice fine weave. Only wish it had a leather sweatband like the "Forty Eight", instead of the fabric (atleast it is not flowery like the "Thornton").- Steinbockhase

The color is nice. Too bad, they don't show photos of the lining and sweatband. They claim it's an Australian wool with beaver fur finish; amount of beaver ? I would just like to point out, that for 79$ you might be able to find a better quality vintage hat. Maybe hard to find in that...- Steinbockhase

Stingy brims???
Why not have a Pork Pie or Gambler with an oval crown? When I hand-shape my hat crowns they always turn out more oval than round, because my head is oval! I actually think they look better on me that way.- Steinbockhase

Hat Jack
If you stretch a circle with the pressure on two opposite sides, it becomes an oval; that is simple physics. You could try putting the hat jack in sideways and give the hat another careful stretch to counteract the ovalness/ovality :)- Steinbockhase

Today's straw, is a Stetson "Thornton" Panama. This is a more rugged kind of straw with a tight weave and leather for ribbon and bounded edge. Unfortunately it does not look as tough inside; the flowery fabric gives it more of a feminine touch. I guess fabric is better for sweat-management...- Steinbockhase
