    Levi's 501 1955 vs modern 501 fit/differences?

    I learned to love Levi's in the late 1970s (when even men still wore jeans so tight, you could hardly sit down). In fact, that is the only jeans brand I've been wearing since the 80s. For decades I preferred the original 501, because of fit and the unique button-flies; I had them in all kinds...

    I see your four photos; very nice Knox. I am still a vintage hat novice; so I can't help much with dating it.

    For me classifying hats to a season is more a question of material than of color. i.e: straws and light-weight felts for summer - vs. - thick and heavy felts for winter. My choice of colors depends on: matching my outfit, weather and environment, time of day, etc.

    Don Williams Lid

    My father's name was also Don Williams (R.I.P.) ... only hats I've seen him wearing were stingy-brims and straws. LOL

    The Stratoliner Society {VINTAGE}

    What do you think of this German made Stetson Stratoliner "Excellent" ? The eBay seller claimed it must have been worn during WW2 because it had a badge from the Nazi party "NSDAP" attached to the crown; not part of the offer and no photos (not allowed in Germany). Unfortunately I could not...

    Post New Hats Here!

    Nice hat and a very cool replacement liner. I found some nice printed fabric patches with "Pin Ups" on eBay; these would probably make good hat liners as well :) Samples:

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

    Hello gentlemen. Ofcourse I do not purposely buy hats too small. My head circumference is 56,7cm. All of my hats are tagged atleast 57 or 58 and even some 59cm (or the equivilant in other scales). Unfortunately quite a few turned out to be smaller than tagged; sometimes more than a centimeter...

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

    Thank you for your input, Daniele. I expected both hats are from the same time period, having so much in common. I agree that many older Borsalinos are often smaller than tagged; especially when they were still using the old Punti sizes. Until now, I only have a simple hat-jack for stretching...

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

    Thank you very much for the kind feedback. I already assumed the # 76-08193 could mean 1976. I am surprised the other hat could be 40 years younger (# 130873); ofcourse the liner looks more modern, but the felt seems to be of similar quality.

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

    Another one of my first Borsalinos. Thin and dense semi-stiff felt; I like the bounded edge. Again I felt driven to alter the typical Borsalino center-dent; this time into a Pork Pie. Modell L5997 in color Caffe. Can anyone help with translating the production number into a date?

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

    One of my first Borsalinos. The felt is rather thin and semi-stiff. Unfortunately it was smaller than expected; had to stretch it quite a bit to wear it. In addition I altered the typical Borsalino center-dent into a low teardrop with much rake towards the back. The stretch is noticable on brim...
