    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

If it's a old vintage Borsalino sold in Europe, it could very well be the old French size 7 1/2 which would equal a US 7 5/8 or 62 cm. In my experience, vintage Borsalinos with French size tags tend to run a little smaller.

    Show us your Stingy Brims

Here is a fuzzy Stetson Imperial as Pork Pie Stingy. Originally had a center dent and probably sold as Tyrolean style hat, unfortunately no product tags. Not sure if "Imperial" refers to the quality or is just a name.

My tiny Cervino Stingy. Qualita Speciale, but very small for a 57 cm. I gave it a wide tear drop crease.

    Italian brands hats

This is my only Cervino. Qualita Speciale, but very small for a 57 cm. I gave it a wide tear drop crease for a maximum low crown; I like that look. Tiny Stingy :-)

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

I thought "Excellent" Stetsons are usually made of beaver felt (or atleast partially); not true!? The blocking and stretching was successful; got that hat back to a larger 58 cm. Pictures will follow soon.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

With my new Kia Picanto and a more recent Stetson "Stratoliner - special edition".

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Other than the loss of size, the hat hardly shows any signs of wear. The liner does seem to have some very weak water stains; so I assume the hat has been wet or kept in a moist environment. Still amazing how "off size" it was, but I am confident I can get it to fit me okay.

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Aha ... so you were my competitor and winner of that eBay auction :) It hurt losing that deal, but nice to see a Lounger get this beautiful hat. You did a good job reblocking it. BTW: the seller sold a total of three German Stetson "Excellent"s; all from "Hut Bracht". I quess we both missed the...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Currently on eBay (Germany) Nice German made Stetson "Excellent" in size 7 1/2 (60cm). Too big for me, but could be interesting for someone in that size range. Bid is currently still below 30 Euro. Auction ends 24 hours from now...

Hi Loungers, I found a nice looking Stetson "Premier" online. The seller claims it is probably from the 1940s. I have studied some threads here about dating Stetsons and vintage hats in general, but I still find it often difficult. Here are pics from the liner and sweatband; unfortunately no...

Beautiful. Age, sweatband and liner details, that color in excellent quality ... I like everything about this hat.

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

Somebody very self-confident usually doesn't give a damn what others think of his look. Where as someone who doesn't care about what others think of his appearance, shows proof of self-confidence. So where is the difference? Both are just the two sides of the same coin :)

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

No offense to the ladies ... but I wrote "Nowadays a man needs "balls" ..." By the way ... most ladies like men with self-confidence ... and of course "balls" :)

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

The way I see it: Nowadays a man needs enough self esteem and confidence ("balls") to wear a nice dress hat in public. The wider the brim, the taller the crown = the bigger your balls!
