At 41 inch chest size 40 will be your size without doubt. The Buzz is quite slim but not as long in the body as the RealMcCoys version. I can't imagine any peacoat being heavier than the BR version. The fabric is very heavy and super densely woven. the detailing is also very good. IMO the jacket...
I like Double RL stuff. It's usually very well put together. But if you are really prepared to pay that much for a peacoat (and you don't want to buy vintage) I would very much recommend a Sterlingwear one.
If you still have some time left I would check ebay for their DSCP peacoat which a...
What a cool and stylish picture! You look as good (if not better) as you looked back then. The picture also proves that a good parka never goes out of style.
BTW: Yesterday I wore my trusted M-65 NOS fishtail parka ( with genuine coyote fur hood) for the first time this year. ...I felt well...
Thanks! I knew you would come up with a well-founded answer. TBH I didn't realize that McQueen's jacket had no side panels but a godet instead. Great pictures though and two very smart looking actors. Although the last picture is (almost) spoiled by Robert Wagner's granny slippers. Just about a...
Andrew, looking at this picture in particular I was wondering if McQueen wears an older "redskin" dauber-dyed B-3. Compared to Wagner's jacket (which definitly has a lacquer finish) it looks lighter in colour with areas where the top coat is almost worn away. At the same time the wool appears...
Two nice and plush B3s worn by two good looking but unknown actors. ;)
PS: Don't know where the last scenes of that movie were filmed but why did the production company select such an awfully fitting (and looking) A2 replica for Sinatra? The collar looks like Dumbo's ears? At the time the...
Usually dry denim has some sort of starch finish to keep to usual initial colour transfer as low as possible. I always give a new pair of denim jeans an gentle luke warm handwash with mild detergent. That helps to remove most of the dye that just "sits" on top of the fibres.
Congrats on your...
Agreed, pal!! ;) And a good idea concerning buying more dry denim! There can't be enough denim...
Grayland, the belt can be had without the logo if you order directly from McRostie. You can have it embossed into the lining instead or order the belt completely sterile.
I have to agree that the pics look similar and yes, the buckle and the keepers are sewn-in. I was referring to that McRostie harness belt which is fully saddle stitched. But I have handled that Original Flightjackets / Willis belt in person and it IS a masterpiece. Incredibly thick and stiff...
Of course a simple cut belt with no edge bevel or stitching and with die-cast zinc/ pewter hardware can be had for much less than what Scott Willis or McRostie charge. But if you want a product that involves a certain amount of handwork and if you can appreciate stiff, heavy and long lasting...
It's a 1.5 inches raised bridle leather belt and it costs 125 BP incl. VAT. It's available through the site although that specific colour and buckle are not shown. Just call them for all the info you need. They are very friendly and helpful. Ask them for all buckle options available. Usually...
Scott from Dontmournorganize makes some ace belts. He's my favourite among all the smaller leather goods manufacturers. You cannot go wrong if you order form him. He offers a great amount of different hides, including horsehide from Horween.
Here's one of them (double face horsehide belt...
Take it back and insist on a new jacket. No repair for a brand new jacket please. Let them sell it though their sales page. It was their mistake so a mod or repair is a no-go. The wait shouldn't be long because usually cases like that are shifted to the front of the queue.
