Great boots. Sometimes the welt separates from the sole. This is just a cosmetic issue, as the boots are glued AND stitched. Take a nail file or a thin blade and open the gap even wider. (Don't be afraid...it won't do any damage). Use superglue and firmly press sole and welt back together. Make...
Here is my pocket knife along with my horsehide wallet. I carry it everyday and it's more than a decade old:
It's a German "Hubertus" switchblade with hand forged damascus blade, stag scales and nickel silver bolsters. The blade is not stainless but has a really high HRC rating (62 Rockwell)...
38- 1711: Trimmest Aero repro, high armholes, very slim sleeves but also short in the body
Aero Bronco: Second trimmest Aero. Narrow and fairly long body but wide and comfortable shoulders, slim sleeves but almost no taper at the cuffs, back has substantialy less leather compared to the...
Looks like an Aero to me but I could be wrong. The resolution is not very high. The collar very much looks like a collar from a 42-15142-P contract and so do the pocket flaps.
May be it's a test sample or an Aero "flight" jacket which are usually sold for considerably less money...
I'm sure the jacket turns out ok, although Aero's FQHH is hard to beat in terms of appearance and aging characteristics.
If it's a sort of custom job anyway and you don't care 100% about authenticity order your jacket with a row of top stitching around the cuffs. The Indy sleeves always appear...
Great jacket with loads of grain variation. It's amazing to see how snug the waistband still is. You can tell by the shape of the cuffs that the jacket has been worn a bit but the waistband looks almost new (apart from the darned up moth holes).
The rounded collar tips and less scalloped pocket...
Hi,
Regarding the lining: Originals came with rayon acetate linings which looks and feels a bit like silk. Although acetate is quite expensive and feels very luxurious and comfortable it is nowhere near as durable as nylon, polycotton or even pure cotton. High end manufacturers tend to copy the...
I don't mind at all!
I've bought at one of the famous Manufactum (upmarket) department stores in Germany. They have a (very much slimmed down) UK end too.
Here you go: http://www.manufactum.co.uk/provencal-bag-p838642/?c=193756
.
I am confused too...
I own a shoulder bag which is made of veg tanned north african "sheepskin" i.e. leather from fully grown sheep. That stuff is very thick and durable and also very stiff due to veg tanning. It almost feels like veg tanned steer or cow but of course the grain is totally...
Aero no langer makes the B-10 because their military cloth jackets machinist retired. Why shouldn't they offer those products? According to Will there is not enough money in cloth jackets if they are made to Aero standards...that's why Aero is offering more than just PB denim.
I can only say the best about the Pike Brothers product range. Superb quality of workmanship, great attention to detail and of course a stunning range of fabrics. Honestly they are the real deal. If their stuff would bear a morwe widely known (japanese) name they would be a LOT more expensive...
My Aero goatskin Cheyenne is actually not too far away from what you a re looking for:

Here's one that's similar in style, manufactured by The FEW (Real McCoys):
A very sleek and stylish jacket with a yoke that I like much better than the yoke on the jacket you posted. The FEW make excellent stuff. It's pricy though but being in Australia shipping charges wouldn't break...
YES!! I'm glad that you can get them over there. And the price isn't too bad... although not exactly cheap.
SCOTT, the waist on those runs true to size but as I said they are slightly longer fitting to allow for a cuff. The fabric is heavier (13 3/4 oz) in fact it feels more like 16 oz denim...
Don't know what you mean. This is how jeans were made back in the heydays. Fabric woven on narrow shuttle looms, tighter and stronger weave, not pre-aged or pseudo-vintaged...
You could also ask what the deal is about goodyear welted workboots or shoes. Those things may not appeal to everyone...
LEE 101Z or 101S without doubt. My grab and go jeans. Superb quality, no comparison to the vastly overpriced LVC stuff (Levi's Vintage Clothing). The 101 and Archive series is Lee's premium brand. Will from Aero is great fan of them too.
- Double selvedge
- Very tightly woven (sometimes...
