Thanks, Worf!
Mine fits perfectly...the pic shows just an anorexic, super tall fashion model wearing the jacket. If I find the time I'll take one or two pics of me wearing the jacket.
I'm 6ft1 and weigh about 155lbs and wear a size 38 which fits as it should with long sleeves and good body...
Worf, that's a great duffel in a quite unusual colour! Fit is perfect and it looks very good with the rest of your attire!
I recently aquired this Gloverall coat. It's basically a Monty in a shorter length with slightly slimmed down proportions. Especially the sleeves are very narrow now...
Oh dear! What have I done!!!:( Feels like I've opened Pandora's box...
No portly or stocky guys on this forum that's for sure, just fine gentlemen with format.
I'm sorry Fletch! Does "stocky" sound too offensive? I could have said "portly" instead but I'm not sure if it would have made any difference.
I just wanted to say that "Pattern 2" is meant for people who are slightly more compact with wider shoulders and a broader chest...in fact it's also a...
After receiving a couple of PM's I would like to again point out that this A-1 jacket is available in two different patterns:
Pattern 1:
- Slim and slender body
- Close cut back with no excessive leather
- High armholes
- Narrow sleeves
Pattern 2:
- Fuller cut body, yet still...
If I order something from the states it usually ends up in German customs no matter if it's been sent with DHL, USPS or UPS. Once it has arrived at the local depot they send me a little note that says that a delivery is ready for collection.
I'm pretty sure that DHL doesn't do customs...
The A2 makes an excellent summer jacket for mid/northern European climates. But only if you order an A2 the way it is supposed to be i.e. made from mid weight veg tanned hh (Aero's goat is almost too heavy and stiff for a real lightweight jacket) paired with a lightweight (but densely woven)...
Hey! Great jacket and great review with loads of really good pictures. That beast really fits you well. You've shown an incredible amount of steadfastness so you really deserve a perfect jacket.
I've never seen a leather that was that grainy, looks almost unreal! Enjoy your superb present!!
You've pretty much nailed the specs of the 38-1711. It also has the throat hook sewn in, features a collar stand, top stitch on the cuffs etc. Most people will recognize the small yet gracefully curved pockets, the sort of zipper facing and the overall trim fit and short body length.
The Bronco...
Will do! But only if you convince your cats to appear in one of next pics!
Very true!! But Marco really knows what he is doing. His made to measure/order shoes are also a joy to behold. Too expensive for me though...
What do you mean, Windward? Those ankle boots that I'm wearing? I wish they were shell cordovan (!)... but they are just plain brown calfskin.
But they are very well made and my master cobbler Marco Gräfe completly rebuilt the stacked leather heel, put a new edgetrim on, and resoled them with...
Not very mild here...p...ing down and all. The jacket looks VERY good on you. In fact both yours and Olli's are very good examples of two terribly good looking Aero A2s:
Just have to post those pictures again here...
BTW: Those fleece gloves are a real change in style, especially since the...
For some reason I always thought that vintage horsehide was just tumbled to achieve a broken-in appearance. From my understanding vintage hh and tumbled hh are the same...
Thanks, chaps. (Merry Xmas btw) Yes, both the Messerschmitts (A, B, +C) and the A-1 are stunning jackets. Their soft and pliable (nonetheless thick and substantial) leather offers an incredible amount of comfort. The A-1 almost felt like a cloth jacket when I tried it on. A very suprising and...
No, the new one is not listed and described yet. The one shown on the site is the standard Aero version which is sort of ill-fitting if you are taller and not overweight.
The Messerschmitt brand is owned by Original Flightjackets / Wolf Continental. Those jackets are manufactured by the same...
From what I remember the jacket is available now. A full set of jackets (40-48) was just completed. I've seen them on hangers. No problem with short or long sizes. Even stout figures can be served..they just have to order the fuller cut pattern A-1. If a jacket needs to be made wait time is...
Yesterday (upon a pre-Christmas visit at their shop) I was allowed to take a couple of pictures of Original Flightjacket’s ( www.original-flightjackets.com ) latest addition to their product range. It’s their brand new horsehide A-1. That jacket really is a stunner!!
By far the most luxurious...
Good fit there, Cole. I like the colour, too. Also quite a clean design from Belstaff...some of the recent stuff is a horrible mash up of all sorts of details you find on very different vintage jackets. Yours is good! I'd say your weight has dropped by at least 6-7 pounds. Am I right?
Original Flightjacket have just released a very nice shawl collar cardigan in collaboration with Peter Scott Knitwear. I've handled it myself last week and I was really impressed by the fit, weight and softness of the wool. No wonder, as it's a pure merino/cashmere blend. Really densly knitted...
