You're welcome! Good luck with your new jacket!
Sir J, yes RRL stuff is nice. Usually very high quality fabrics, sometimes even with vintage weave pattern. Fit, finish and hardware is also well above many other high quality brands that produce vintage inspired clothing. I can fully understand...
The Bronco is generally a slim and slender jacket but it is quite roomy around the shoulders. The upper sleeves are also not too tight.
Aero's 38-1711 is much tighter around the shoulders and the upper sleeves but overall boxier, wider and shorter than the Bronco.
If you work out on a normal...
Olive looks great on black! I have to agree with Edward. I've seen quite a number of Aero MC jackets that were either brown or black FQHH and had olive drab contrast stitching...they all looked great. A very subtle detail.
Also it's historically accurate since many wartime flightjackets were...
What fit are you after and what are your personal measurements? Some Eastman contracts can be quite roomy and loose fitting. Don't be intrigued by the pictures on their site. I would ask Rob at Eastman for some measurements of various A-2s in your size. There can be quite a difference between a...
Oh dear! That's bad news. What size is it? And what's the biggest size Buzz make? 44 or 46? I feel that my jacket is very generously sized for a Japanese jacket.
Why don't you sell it via Classifieds or Ebay and try to get a bigger one or the LW or McCoys version in a better size?
Cool!!
Yes, my BR is well put together too, although you have to be careful with the Hookless zip...very easy to misalign.
I would really like to see a B-1 or B-2 from Eastman, Goodwear or Aero.
Here's the BR B-2:
PS: Fletch, I can't see the picture you posted. It seems to be private.
Great pictures, thanks for posting!! I really like those pocket flaps. Reminds me of this one (Buzz Rickson B-2):
I wonder why nobody wants to make a B-1 or B-2. I know about the Lost Worlds, Real McCoys und Buzz Ricksons but still those tow jackets don't seem to be popular. Maybe it's...
Griff, yes the finish looks awesome. Before I took it off the hanger I didn't even know that Aero had upgraded their midweight jerky Horween stuff.
Their smooth hh looked rather boring but the jerky hh is great....pliable, consistent thickness, loads of grain, good weight, and a really thin...
Why that's good avice Nick! I'll use some Pecards and work it in with a brush and a hair dryer. That will leave the bark supple and well fed. Pecards will also create a water rellent finish which helps to keep ants away.
That was sound avice...I'll give it a go after the chill is gone.
Hi Jack! Good idea! I'll ask him if he would be willing to model the Bronco.
Unfortunately he's not only a little longer in the torso but also a little mossy around the belly...I don't want him to soil the lining. Any ideas how that could be prevented? I know that he doesn't like to wear any...
Also those RRL service pants are not really low rise. This effect is again created by the camera. Next time I use an SLR with a proper lens.
Justhandguns, thanks regarding the fit. But as I've mentioned earlier this jacket is not mine. I just threw it over for a couple of pics. Original...
Yeah, I guess you're right. If I would order a size 40 Bronco I would definitely go for an extra inch body length and maybe half an inch for the sleeves.
But the pics show well how long the Bronco is in comparison to other A-2s. The 42something contract probably wouldn't even reach my belt.
BTW...
Since there's been a bit of interest in Aero's Bronco lately I've decided to take a couple of pics of me wearing this specific jacket. Some people seemed to be curious about how the Bronco fits. I hope that the following pics might help to shed some light on that question.
This is not my...
Really looks better now but still a bit wide around the belly...which is due to the general pattern of this contract.
Pic 2 shows well how much leather your jacket has in the back. The jacket is wearable but it looks too balloony IMHO. You're well built so you could easily wear a much trimmer...
Unfortunately the "Custom your jacket to hell"-days are over. A Bronco in FQHH with 1711 pockets might still be realistic, though. But a total mash up is not very likely.
The second pic shows an A2 made on the Bronco pattern but with 38-1711 details i. e. small pockets, collar stand, half leather facing for zip, top stitching on cuffs etc.
The pattern is 100% Bronco but Olli liked many details of the 1711 so much that Will agreed to mix both jackets up. He even...
I would definitely order a Bronco. The 38-1711 is a nice slim fitting jacket too with a number of great features but regarding your height you would have to add at least two inches to the body length as the 38-1711 is also the shortest of all A2 contracts Aero offers. This jacket can also be...
Aero's 42... contract has sort of a tricky fit. It's quite boxy and short and larger sizes can have a lot of unneccessary leather in the back. On some guys it tends to look like a balloon.
Your jacket is generally a nice jacket but I have to agree with some of the other lounge members: The...
