Before September 11 you could see the Goodyear and Sanyo blimps flying over many major sporting events. Also banner towing planes. Since September 11 any flying above a crowd is prohibited. It basically put quite a few aviation businesses out of business. And no more aerial photography.

I suspect that going forward more aerial photography will be done with drones.
